I just don’t understand why Potter gets so much praise for his losing style. Losing isn’t good. Repeatedly losing is really bad. If Potter is a good manager at this level, he’d be able to adapt his style to fit the players at his disposal. But he can’t. He has no plan b. I’m also far from convinced he could bring us back up. So many other variables he cannot control come into play if we get relegated. I think a lot of fans are kidding themselves to think that way. Potter has no record of getting sides promoted or keeping them from being relegated. Simply don’t understand why he gets cut so much slack. His record is woeful. His brand of football if anything is he knows how to pick a losing team.

Potter has managed three promoted teams. ???

Why was he given a 6 year contract? He was hardly pulling up trees and attracting lots of attention from other clubs.

I think most people were bemused by this decision even before we found ourselves in a relegation battle. And now because of that commitment really can't see ' the trigger being pulled ' even if we do go down.

Sorry, meant to say in English football. Sure he’d do well in Lichtenstein too, but not really the same as over here.

An outsiders view admittedly but you’d be mad to get rid of Potter, you play some really entertaining football.

Having said that, there’s still a naivety to your play, hence us stealing 4 points from you this season.

If I was TB I’d definitely stick with Potter, given the chance I’d have him as a manager after Hodgson retires, I think he’s got the ability to be a brilliant manager. :(

Fair enough, I think he’s way better than that.

Hasn't he managed the same team that got promoted three times. Whose chairman is now getting done for financial irregularities linked to that club?

I hope is - I just haven’t seen any proof yet. He may well become a good manager, but don’t think relegation was planned as year 1 of the 6 year contract. Ie “Take us down Graham, and then let’s have a proper bash at the Championship Title.” Very surprised if Tony agreed to that as a strategy.

If only football were as simple as getting what you plan for.

That’s sort of my point really. I don’t think football lends itself to plans. When clubs talk about them, it’s a nonsense really. Managers have to hit the ground running and win and then keep winning and when they don’t they get sacked. Pure and simple.

Boards can strategise for quality and astute recruitment. Wolves, Leicester and Watford have all spent far less than say Everton, but have some very good top flight players. Giving any coach a huge advantage.
