Worthing
i can remember when Brighton fans used to throw coins on a regular basis at home games.

It was when a charity used to walk round the cinder track at the Goldstone with a giant sheet and the idea was they all landed in there or the people with them would pick up the near misses. Of course the real game was to try and hit someone with a ha'penny or a shilling if you felt flush.

Health and safety....... Ha ha.

Plenty of trouble against Middlesboro as well according to my mate, just not as well publicised.

There's a quite funny video of about 10-15 West Ham kiddies going after 1 or 2 boro fans in front of their coach and the Boro lad defends himself my properly dropping 2 of them. Hate violence myself but the justice of the apparent bullies in numbers getting a slap is funny.

Or those football fans stuck in the 70s and 80s could stop being utter cretins and behave like decent human beings? ???

Eh? I said fair play to the Boro lad who was outnumbered & sparked a couple? Do you make up that all posts say the same things so you can write a pre-determined answer?

I'm sure we're all in agreement there but I think the point Bozza is making is that the way the Press are reporting it, they are angling the story so that it sounds like children were deliberately targeted which makes it sound even worse. This all adds to the bad rep that football fans have and it weakens even further any influence that us fans who go to matches have over developments in the game.

The important issue here is why have cockneys started wearing flat caps , please don't tell me they're now fashionable as i just donated my last one to RSPCA charity shop a few weeks ago .

Which begs the question, with hindsight being a wonderful thing, why did they ever want to move from Upton Park? Yes I know, ultimately, that the club will make money from increased ticket revenue. But Upton Park suited West Ham, it had a capacity of 36,000, and if they had redeveloped the East Stand in proportion to the other stands that might have taken the attendance to 45,000+/-. The attendance at their new stadium last night was 45,000. Hardly worth the grief really.
in a word, "greed" Since when were fans a consideration? Mere pawns my good man, pawns...or maybe prawns?!

Seriously? 55,000 on West Ham season ticket waiting list?

Karen Brady fascinates me. Since arriving on the football scene she's constantly been portrayed as a sassy sexy new modern business woman in a mans world. But my eyes and ears have never really bought into this image. She's far from sexy, despite her 'marketing' and listening to her words of wisdom on TV and in the press, some of which is highlighted in this thread, I just don't underatand how she's risen to the top of her profession? Like her 'apprentices' is the joke on us, surely she's not the pick of the crop? Let's face it, a peerage isn't exactly 'worthy' these days, just shows you know powerful people - just ask Cameron's hairdresser!

Great thread. There were scuffles outside when we played them first game of the season, nothing on the scale of Boro or last night though. We all thought that their gloating after a win wouldn't go down well with every set of fans they beat..We had West Ham fans in the concourse who had been let through to have a piss! Joke.

No surprise it's got worse, or the fact the first 3 home matches they had were us, Watford then Southampton. Random computer my arse.

Talking to some Chelsea acquaintances, Policing was **** and included holding hundreds of Chelsea outside the stadium (fans with tickets), and inside the Stadium you can leave the stand, walk round the concourse and visit your West Ham chums in the home seats, which makes the posturing from the speccy geezer on the netting even more ridiculous.

After reading about the riots and the bloodbath at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night, can i just put things into a bit of perspective. I bet more people will be arrested and hurt on Saturday night at Lewes bonfire and just add to that.....Notting Hill Carnival ?

I must admit, I'm struggling to see your point, I thought that what I wrote was fairly non-contentious but you seem to disagree. Mind you, you are a pointless prick obsessed with telling us you're THE uber-fan so I won't lose too much sleep over it.

She is only there because she is the daughter of Terry Brady, a business partner (Porn) of David Sullivan.
