Same here. It's going to happen with Labour too, nobody will be listened too.
Used to vote Labour and I absolutely hate the way they carry on. This Rich Vs Poor argument no longer works for me I'm afraid. It goes deeper than that now. I will go with UKIP as I feel it is the only way I will get any improvement in this country.

I voted Labour last time (my first vote). If there was an election today, I wouldn't vote Labour. They really messed up big time with the economy & don't seem to stand for much currently!

Will probably vote for Lib Dem or maybe Conservatives. I am surprised & pleased that they have stayed the course & getting this country out of the doggy do doos at long last.

Couldn't vote Green & whilst UKIP could appeal, they won't get into government & besides Cameron says that there will be a vote on the EU if he is re elected

If you follow UKIP, why dont you mentiion the frequent exposures of racists within the hierachy of the party, that is conning decent people, who have genuine fears (maybe yourself). Yes, i believed them, i agreed with Nick, rememberthat?, so this time living in Worthing, where you could put a blue rossette on a donkey and people would vote for it,i am at a loss who to vote for, although it probally wont matter as A- there won't be anyone very left of centre for me to vote for and not feel ive wasted my vote, and B the quasi racist little Englanders of Ukip, and the Tories, who i would rather drink bleach, than vote for will be supplying my parliament ary representative. I will still vote tho, cos i think you owe it to all those who have suffered , in this country and abroad, for universal sufferage.

You may think yourself as a lefty, however the Libs are unequivocally pro EU, an institution that is unashamedly devoted to corporate capitalism and monetarist ideology........accordingly in the context of their attitude to the EU they are just about as right wing as they come.

When I was young real lefties (like Peter Shore, Tony Benn and Michael Foot) were rabidly anti EU because they understood what the effects of unrestricted labour markets would mean for the working class. They were right, and that's exactly why Bob Crow, Tony Benn and other genuine socialist groups still remain avowedly anti EU.

In those days it was the Tories who were devoted to the EU and understandably so, it's only in the last 20 years they have changed and that was because the EU started to flex its growing law making muscle. Blair was the first "lefty" to really embrace the EU and that was largely in response to the Tories disintegration on the matter and a belief that the EU would support socialist policy like minimum wage etc.

But now we know Blair was really a Tory.............although I suspect he still thinks he's a lefty. Funny eh?

After this weeks conference, there is clear water between the two main parties for the first time in a decade. Milliband wants to build 200,000 houses a year. Guess where most of those will be? The South east is far too overcrowded already, maybe he should try to bring back into the market the 800,000 empty houses in the Uk.

That's as maybe but I would (respectfully) suggest some deeper analysis on contemporary political matters, so take for example how Ed Miliband this week has been congratulated for his proposals for dealing with the energy companies, and how that represents a welcome step to the left.

Well, that might satisfy the wet lettuce lefties still living in a Mum and Dads box room or in their student accommodation.......however if he was a genuine socialist he would be threatening the companies with re nationalisation. That was not even on the table, just like renationalising other areas like the trains or the water companies. Notice how limp Labour have been with the Royal Mail.

The reason why he or any other shitstick socialist wouldn't dare take that kind of step or make too much noise about privatisation is because of (drum roll) EU competition law.

So, you keep trundling along considering yourself a lefty...............the reason you won't get anyone with a socialist agenda is staring you in the face.

So UKIP to get rid of European court of human bloody rights ! Wow. I'm totally amazed by all the posters who bought the Tory lie that Labour were responsible for the economic collapse and not the banks. Let's not even bother to consider the simple fact that the Tories were screaming for greater reductions in control over the banks when Labour were in govt. Oh no! Cos it was Labour wot dun it. Not the greedy bankers who screwed us up.

Brilliant news this week that Labour would cap the energy companies, spare no sympathy for the energy company bosses wringing their hands on £5M a year. Well done Ed for bringing our party back to socialist roots. I'd rather go into the next election with a manifesto that sets out a return to policies that look after the non-privileged and lose, than go back to new Labour politics. But then again I'm an old lefty, and always will be.

Still, let's be realistic, with Murdoch on their side and the inestimable ability of my beloved fellow citizens to want to serve and obey their imagined betters, the Tories will probably win. Feudal system anyone?
