Can't see Gus changing the full backs, as these have been part of our improved defending. Mainly due to less crosses being allowed in to the box.

Most likely seems changes in midfield to become more attacking. So if we stay 442, I would expect one of Crofts, Dicker or Navarro dropped with Cox or Carole wide left. Dicker will be playing if Gus really wants to go for it or will be dropped if he wants it more solid in the middle. It is also worth pointing out that our best performance this season (away at Wycombe) was without Crofts.

The only other option I can see is 433/451 with all three centre mids. Cox/Carole wide left and Dickinson right (where he did most of his damage Saturday). If the pitch is dodgy this may work well as it would encourage a longer passing game. Would mean Bennett being dropped though which I don't like the idea of. Maybe Bennett or Dickinson could play left side.

Excellent post. Our midfield was SUPERB that day. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. The service from Dicker, Cox and Bennett to Murray and Forster that day was top quality and nonstop, with Navarro mopping up behind.

Yep, i was really impressed with Cox in the second half, but the whole midfield was class. (Yes i was there.)

can't see any way he will put Crofts on the bench although on form (narrowly) I think he is the one who should make way if we are to create some extra width.

The 4-5-1 option may be most likely reading between the lines of his comments on the official site but Dickinson would be really unlucky to have to go back to the bench - playing wider right ina front two I think he can make a real impact for us.
