If it did happen, I'd guess it would signify Tony has agreed a very decent budget for Gus next year - which is only a good thing.

I trust Tony Bloom. If he is happy to continue 'as is' then maybe this matter has all been blown out of proportion.

But part of me is curious to see what happens if Gus should move on.

Everything Tony Bloom has done to date has been very positive and the trajectory of the club has been ever upward. At the beginning of last season I think most of us would have been delighted with a solid 4th place finish and the play off semis. Decent progress from 10th the previous season plus some great signings and loanees plus excellent playing form in the last couple of months. So if Gus stays then it's not the end of the world.

Bloom has largely had the midas touch since he took the Club over. However needing to appoint a new manager would be possibly the first blip - hardly a disaster but would be a test of Bloom's ability to maintain this impetus. I have every confidence that he has the long term well being of the Club in his heart but would be very interested to see the calibre of manager he would go for. I am slightly apprehensive that a British manager would come in and our Spanish revolution would fizzle out. But then Bloom is a fan too, so I hope he would want to continue a similar style of footie and more flair. He brought Gus in so think he would continue with another foreign 'name'.

Where's the option for Badgers Poachers Ale with hints of liquorice. Fine, fine nectar, Poyet or no Poyet.

I trust Tony Bloom totally, whatever he sees as the way forward will be fine with me with one caveat if theres a "kiss and make-up"scenario with Gus. Gus is nowhere as good yet as he thinks he is, he is still work in progress, like the club. We have a firm basis on which to continue to develop but he has to commit totally for the next 3 years, no more public sweetheart statements to the likes of Chelsea, Leeds etc. irrespective of what he's asked by the media. A total focus on us and respect for the Chairman and the club.

I dunno, I'm such a tart. It's a bit like having to forgive your other half if they've admitted to having an affair. In the immediate aftermath of the Palace debacle with Poyet's crass statement about hitting ceilings or whatever (and yes I know he'd said similar but feelings were running high) I wanted him to **** right off. I've calmed down a bit now and if it were to happen ..... well I don't think I'd ever feel the same way about him and he'd definitely be on probation - but there are a LOT worse managers we could have.

So, it's a 'fence' from me, but that's a softening of my ' he can **** right off' view of a week ago. Still probably against but it's marginal now.

But if he DID come back I NEVER EVER want to hear him say again about how much he wants to manage someone else. Rather I want him to acknowledge that he's got one of the best gigs in football that an untried manager could have possibly got for his first job.

Quite.

Very very very disappointed. I think we have hit the roof with Poyet in charge, and next season I believe more and more teams will be able to counter his style, and even with better players we will be very very fortunate to reach the play offs again.

With a new manager who plays a formation suited to the players available, and not a formation suited to him, I think we a few additions we could walk this league next year.

The point is if Poyet had been offered Stoke, Everton, Fulham or any other job he's been linked with, he'd have gone like a shot. But he hasn't, and I think that is down to nothing more than he's not as highly rated as he, and some on here think he is.

Get rid, move forward.
