If Prescott says 'no'

If they have made their decision already, and most of us reckon that they have, what on earth is the point of stringing us along to the 31st of the month, why not just let us know now. All the waiting time is time wasted on building our new ground and getting us into a new home and away from Withdean.

Lord B reckons they haven't.

Well, I think we've drummed up enough support
Just hope they bass the decision on the facts
The stadium would certainly be a cymbal of sporting excellence for Sussex

If they haven't made their mind up after all this time it begs the question of what their concerns are, also does Lord B have inside knowledge?

I think it is just that we are still in the queue. Civil servants and all that.

Of course there is.

When asked that question (about 2 years ago) Mr Perry at the A21 fans forum said there was no plan B....I was there when he said it

Calm down lads. They did not just pick October 31 out of thin air. They (the civil servants) knew that they had to wait for Prescott to get back to Westminster after the party conference season and for Parliament to open again and find time in Prescott's diary to give him the papers with a recommendation .
You can bet that those looking after the South Downs National Park Inquiry are talking to the Falmer inquiry civil servants to make sure there is not a conflict,or if there is, preparing papers for JP so he and his top Sir Humphrey can sort it out.

So we may have to wait until the last week of the month, possibly Tuesday 25 when the parties concerned at the Inquiry receive the letter of decision by courier.

JP will not announce the decision in a way that smacks of bias or trying to make political capital, for if he did so, the decision could be challenged as not being based on planning terms. So, I cannot see an announcement at a match as being the way in which the decision is announced.

As to what the decision will be, the odds must be in favour of Falmer. Otherwise surely JP would have accepted the First Inquiry recommendation not to proceed. And all the evidence at the second Inquiry suggested that Falmer whilst it has its problems is still the best of a bad job and it's affordable unlike the other sites with the possible exception of Sheepcote Valley.

Correct me if I am wrong but NO! is not an answer. They can turn around and say we have a lien to recommend 'Sheepdip' but a plain NO is not on the agenda.

If they do then once plans are filed they would not be in a political situation to call the plans in. ie Worst possible scenario we go to Sheepdip and a two year delay.

Thoughts?

Do you reckon we'll make a song and dance about it?

Judging from what I heard at the public inquiry Sheepcote is more of an area to be protected than Falmer.
I think we would have more objectors than Falmer. (if it came to that)

Thats becasue they dont want to advertise a plan B becasue it gives a option for the govt and Nimbys to say just use plan B.

I have heard there is a plan B and it sounds feasable.

There has to be a(secret) plan B or the wrong people are running this club, which they're not. Apologies if that sounds a bit Irish.
