After out win against Bournemouth this week, his comments about our front 4 of Mitoma, Pedro, Welbz and Georginio was telling. He spoke about us being able to finish very high up the table because of our attacking prowess and depth of squad in forward positions.

He mentioned Ferguson and Minteh coming in if we get injuries etc but he probably realises that Adingra, Enciso, March and Gruda can all do a good job too.

If we keep winning, he’ll continue this narrative but will add a retrospective qualifier such as ‘I’ve been speaking about Brighton being a threat to the top four for months, I told you Gary…..’.

Shearer has been very complimentary about us for a while now, and not in a patronising way. When we played Man U in the FA Cup semi-final he went against the 'Big Club' bias we accuse all presenters/pundits of having and picked us to win.

The thing is, I don't think we're playing that well. I didn't see the Everton game, but reading on here it seems our first goal was against the run of play, and we weren't exactly spectacular in general, but that's the only game we've won by more than one goal. Possibly Everton aside, we haven't played anyone off the park.

Some of our goals have been amazing, with intricate passing and deft finishes, but can we keep doing that all season? It's really unclear to me how our season's going to go.

I think this season more than any other we've gone under hyped. But there's a few good reasons for this. We haven't got a standout player to hype beyond Welbeck, nobody quote knows our style, and the league is very tight. Win the next couple though and I'm sure we'll be all over it again.

A fair few people get affronted, feeling that we don't get enough credit or media coverage compared to the "big clubs".

I largely disagree with this - we seem to be media darlings, to a degree, but I'm also accepting that we're just never going to get coverage on a par with the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd.

However, I was positively FUMING this evening when, on 5Live, they said the subject of this thread, completely ignoring us in the reckoning at the top of the table. Tossers.

Not so much affronted but disappointed at the lack of match reports in the online Sunday Times for our last match. I seems that unless we are playing Utd, City or Liverpool they don´t cover the match anymore.
