Of course. Unless he joined Palace when Freedman is sacked. Then he'd be scum to be fair.

Let's face it, as we know as much as anyone, the fans are the club and everyone else is just passing through (with special dispensation for our chairman, but he's a fan anyway really).

In my book if Gus stayed and got us in to the PL, he would be a legend even in that relatively short three and a half years. If he goes this summer, it's a work in progress and too soon for him to be known as such.

He would go with my best wishes, though it would be annoying. As someone else said it has been a great two years to be an Albion fan - and I am certain we are now past that 'critical point' where we are a genuinely attractive proposition in so many ways for a quality successor.

If he goes he goes, he has done a great job and I'm very happy with 10th in the championship this year.
I would love it if Gus works out his contract but if he feels the right job is there for him fair play to him, I would wish him all the best...until we end up playing his team

He has previously said he has unfinished work here and won't leave unless it's for something special, i.e. Chelsea, Spurs... So if he was to leave this summer for the likes of Swansea then i won't be wishing him well.

Yes of course he will, he's been superb for us. And anyone who cant understand why he would want to move on and manage at the top level cant be a very successful person.

I cant believe that after all this time people still haven't worked him out. There isn't a 'will he, wont he' situation, and he doesn't covet other jobs like people accuse him of. He doesn't call up the BBC and say "Please can you print that I want to manage in the Premier League and that I'd be interested in the Chelsea job if it came up". Journalists ASK HIM A QUESTION and he responds with an honest answer. What the hell is wrong with that? Good on him for always speaking his mind. I'd much rather that than the whole 'My heart is with this club and I never want to leave' bollocks, which is usually promptly followed up with jumping ship for a better offer at the first opportunity.

If a bigger, better company offered me a job on more money with better prospects, I would be off like a shot. So will Gus, and so he should. And I'll wish him well when he goes, he's done a fantastic job here.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

don't quite get that sentiment, you just have to look at where we were when he took over, struggling in L1, the football he got us playing (i'll never forget the Peterborough and Charlton away games - i couldn't believe i was watching Brighton, it was sublime and that was Poyet), where we are today..... and Vicente in a Brighton shirt ffs.

the club has moved on massively under Poyet, never forget where we came from to get here, the Albion is now an attractive proposition and I'm very grateful.

Yes i agree, that's why I wouldn't be happy if he went back on his word.

Would probably wish him well whatever but would be slightly miffed if he took a Swansea/Wigan job. He's constantly stated it would take something very special to make him leave - and for me that mean a club with greater potential than mid-table Premier League and below.

He has done brilliantly here but I do feel the club has been perfect for him as well. It is rare to get such backing from a Chairman in terms of cash and also scope to really shape the club from top to bottom.

So, although, I'd wish him well; I really hope he recognises that he alone is not responsible for where we find ourselves today. He is one very important part of a truly fantastic set-up.

Of course I will wish him well. The guy has totally transformed us from Relegation Fodder in League one, to a stablished Championship team in Two Seasons. The League One title winning season, was the best season I've had supporting us. I will never forget that season, to my dying day.

If Gus wanted to leave, he would not leave it until the Summer, Pre season is important to him, he would want a settled squad.

As for Swansea !!! where would you rather live ?

Norwich, if he owns a boat the Fens could be an attraction.

Personally I think he and Tony know where we are going, I dont think he is going anywhere, why would he have extended his contract ? To get things done and put himself on the successful managers list.

Lastly, there are too many scaremongers posting on this site, Let us deal with facts, and not stupid rumors
