Franca hasn't been a flop per se and Glasner definitely used him when he was fit. He got injured early on in the season, started playing in the new year, got injured again. He's only just turned 20.
We would be foolish to write off other team's young players before they've settled etc.

Potter only got the Chelsea gig on the back of a brilliant end to the 21-22 season and a great start to the 22-23 season. Before we beat Arsenal and Spurs away in consecutive games we couldn't see where the next goal let alone win was coming from and that was nearly 3 seasons into his reign. If we'd lost both of those games surely TB would've been close to firing him. A lot of his reign was absolutely turgid, we couldn't buy a goal at times. I think a a lot of glossing over was done by the end of 21-22 and start of 22-23. For that reason I'd be disappointed if he was to return but wouldn't stop me being fully behind him and the team. I suspect the FA may well have sounded him out as a successor to Southgate which may prevent him from agreeing to return.

Well let’s see - bit early in the window to start passing any verdicts and . Does anyone really think they’re keeping Guehi, Olise and Eze ?
I don't think it's a given they'll sell all three. Would we sell JP, JPVH and Facundo in one window?
If they do they could have close to £150 million in the bank and they seem a lot more commited to spending than we do.

Martin Samuel writing in The Sunday Times reckons this appointment is crucial to the Club's future in the PL (pay wall so can't share). Get it wrong, he says, and we're down. The bloke is not a fan of Clubs who continually flog their best assets, as there is ultimately a price to pay. You can duck and dive for a while, but you are only one bad appointment from the Championship.

I don't normally agree with him, but I do in this case. And the longer this goes on the more concerned I become.

Will be very happy for this to be proved wrong (again).
Martin Samuel is a f***ing twat. Shit old school ‘journalist’ who should have have been put out to pasture years ago. I won’t read the article as I could not give one shit about his opinion on anything. Total fucknugget who thinks his opinion carries far more weight and gravitas than it really does.

This is not the first time he’s written an article trying to do us down and it won’t be the last. He hates clubs like us that try and upset the status quo.

Agreed. And we would be likewise foolish to look up the road and start despairing because they’ve won a few games for once.

He's done it loads. Including as recently as February. He's a mug and I hate his face.

Agreed. If correct, the thing that I don't understand, is how they can afford to pay the wages they do. They have a smaller stadium, no recent notable sales of players but somehow manage to retain their talent by paying more than us. Haven't Eze and Olise just signed new deals...? They also kept Zaha for all those years fighting off substantial bids from the big boys. Ours go on strike.

Their wage bill is pretty similar to ours.

“Graham, it’s Tony here. Yes, that one. Would you like to come back? I promise Neal Maupay’s left and we’ll try and get Sanchez back”.

“Can I let you know on Monday Tone? I’m at Peppa Pig World”

Pepper Pig World geographically brings Russell Martin into the discussion, that’s about it though

There's a “snouts in the trough” gag here somewhere but I’m not clever enough to make it

Potter only got the Chelsea gig because he discovered Caceido was a top player. Results before playing him and after are chalk and cheese.

I agree to a certain extent, but Caceido was only 1 player, he on his own couldn't have influenced results that much. Not trying to detract though from the massive influence he did have once he became a regular starter.

If you play Caceido correctly he controls the tempo of the game, I wouldn’t fancy Potter back with Gilmore and ? As it looks like Gross won’t be here next season.

Presumably Pochettino didn't work it out then. Perhaps Maresca will.
PS: Interest or speculation about our players (eg: Gross ) doesn't mean they're leaving. Gross, according to the latest reports , "is aware of the interest but has not made a decision yet" and is now focusing on the Euros. He might of course but its hardly a done deal.
