I can see why he would want to go out on loan, but not sure its good for the club to limit our striker options. Welbeck and Pedro to last from Jan until May without getting injured or suspended is a big ask. yes we have a lot of attacking options but we we are limited when it comes to out and out strikers.

Rutter and João Pedro can both play up top, and the three of them were rotating constantly Vs Bournemouth.

If Welbz gets injured, one of those two will move up top, with the other in behind. Then one of Gruda, Minteh, March or Adingra on the right. This is also assuming Enciso goes on loan.

If two get injured, then the last one standing plays upfront, maybe Gruda or O'Riley comes in at 10?

If all three get injured then we're f***ed, but there's not really any accounting for that.

I think there's more benefit to us if Evan goes on loan and gets his groove back, than having him here just in case of injuries.

Naylor doesn't do the transfer articles for us on there. He said in his interview with the Albion Official pod that he's there to write one or two "long form" articles a week on bigger, more bespoke topics. He might have one of two, but it's generally all centralised through Ornstein

its a juggling act getting him enough game time i would look at the number of internationals coming up as this is excellent competitive football and maybe that is enough and he doesnt need a loan or if he does a very short one

He's played in EVERY League and Cup game for us this season so far except the Crawley game where he was rested like most first teamers. He's also played:

37 games in 2023/2024
37 games in 2022/2023
27 games in 2021/2022
24 games in 2020/2021 having only joined at the end of October!

I've suggested loaning out Fergie and Enciso for a few months now. Happy that it seems to be the intention.

Welbeck, Pedro and Georginio should be sufficient given we only play one up front. Worst case scenario I think someone like Minteh could be fine up front.

FWIW Adingra has been used as a CF in 18 games over the course of his career, most of them at USG.

Big Ev is 20 now, he doesn't need 'careful managing' anymore, he needs to be starting every week in order to really kick on. He's not going to do that here currently, so a loan is obviously a smart move.

The upside to letting him develop elsewhere for a bit is much greater than the upside of keeping him here in case ALL of Joao P, Welbeck & Georginio get injured. We'd also be screwed if Dunk, JPvH & Igor were all injured at the same time, it would just be really bad luck.

Saying all of that, I'm not quite sure where goes in the PL... I initially thought Everton, but they have DCL, Beto & Broja... Surely he won't go to Southampton. Maybe a bigger European side would work better.

Firstly - I don't support Evan Ferguson, I support BHAFC, so if the best thing for BHAFC this season is to have EF as a back up option then that's what I want. The player's development is important for all parties but I'm not a fan of loans mid season, August or not at all IMO.

Secondly - if this were to happen then 100% NOT to another EPL club and DEFFO not f***ing Dyche. A club like Celtic would be perfect.

Agreed, I feel if these loan rumours are true then it's very risky. But in Tony et al we trust.

I'm curious after Ferguson and welbeck who does everyone think can do a consistent job as the lone man up front?
Pedro and rutter? (Who at this point might have played so well it would be to the detriment of the team to move their positions).

Why would we choose to make us a much weaker team?! There’s a gulf between Welbeck and Ferguson individually at the moment. Not to mention the understanding that Welbeck has clearly developed between Rutter, Joao Pedro and Mitoma.

1, the one thing West Ham won't be doing this season is finishing high enough in the table to get into Europe (feel free to bounce this if they do but, if you really believe that they will, let's have a bet and some charity can get the winnings from the loser)
2, loanees don't play against parent clubs
3, most importantly, EF would strengthen WH which will enable them to take more points off the clubs challenging for Europe

So, yes, yes it is a great idea.
