Love it when you get angry and go off on one.

Sadly it will be coming to the Amex if we go up as they are simply the required standard/type of lights required to broadcast ultra HD tv quality for the Prem.

We were behind the curve on the brightness of our lights as soon as we moved to the Amex and TB/PB noted the significant expense of replacing won't be borne until we get there.

They are a new bread of OLED that allow them to be on or off in rapid succession without the need for warming up of traditional lighting methods.

Have seen Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United do similar ahead of kick off for matches broadcast on BT Ultra.

No doubt we will also have LED floodlights too at some point as I agree, the Amex in lighting terms is surprisingly murky, and always has been. But I VERY much doubt we'll be indulging in an epileptic fit-inducing STROBE show like our nylon tracksuited friends up the road. Bear in mind, we're talking about a venue that has a pre-match bird show, "Glad All Over", a drum, a tragic dad-at-a-wedding gimp in the technical area, and to top it all....goal music. When it comes to naffness, they truly are just about off the scale. Last night was just SO Palace, I literally cannot think of another club anywhere in the world that would do that as the players come out. I cringed so hard I think I bruised my liver.

Anyway, as an aside, I had a quick trawl of the BBS to see their reaction (most of them loved it, obvs  ). But an unwanted side effect that some mentioned of their LED floodlights was the additional reflections it caused for some of the bespectacled fans. I'm a speccy (at the football), so I hope we don't suffer a similar fate when these lights are eventually installed.

This is what happens when you try turning it off and on again to try and fix something that's beyond repair .

Was it the Rugby or something where they came out to spotlights?
Back at the Goldstone ITV had to bring in extra lights to cover a game for colour TV.
And the day BT tell us to drop GOSBTS for a strobe show will be the day I give up my ticket. And I wont be alone, correct?

They did something like this at Hull last season I seem to recall. I quite liked it in a way. But what happens to the epileptics in the crowd?

Not the real one
They do it regularly at boxing matches, I quite like it when they get the lights to swirl around the arena. But that Selhurst thing looked like someone flashing torches on and off from a disused cementworks.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but I might be tempted to fire a strongly worded tweet in the direction of Jake Humphrey :moo:

I can't believe they have a ****ing 'capo' with a megaphone now. When I saw someone mention it on Facebook I thought it was a wind up. Words honestly fail me...

It was only ever a matter of time. Presumably the famous Selhurst "atmosphere" is even more dominated by these few dozen goons now...?

Well I thought the Opening Ceremony at the London Olympics could never be matched, let alone surpassed. Well done Palace, a show worthy of Selhurst, its current league standing ......and our favourite dancing manager ....Mr
