We may get a central defender (Virgo) who can head the ball to one of his own team as Butters does.

He will not be a loss. And the fee received will go towards the other players wages so that can't be bad either.

The operative word is IF

(his fee will go towards the deficit but his wages may be used for other players)

Sheff Utd haven't actually made an offer yet and Warnock is looking at two of Rotherham's defenders as well.

Danny may be feeling ambitious and it may be more money but being a big fish in a little pool is sometimes better than a medium fish in a bigger pool.

His knees may not pass the medical.
His wife has a small baby (born around the play offs) and may not want to move to the People's Republic of South Yorkshire with her family support. (a big consideration)

According to the Argus the Albion have offered Danny a new contract. He may decide to take that instead.

I think there's a way to go yet

IF he goes I will be disappointed.

He has been IMO an integral part of the rebirth of the Albion which started when Knight came, followed by Adams. Cullip, together with BZ were Adams finest signings and both should always be held in high regard at the Albion, wherever they ply they trade.

DC has always given 100% - may have had the odd bad game (not bad when he's played what 250 games for us) and has been an insperational leader. Perhaps sometimes a better leader/captain than centre half.

He is also a genuinely nice guy - we'll miss him but I wish him well.

the thread should be renamed

"if cullip goes, then we will be playing in League One next season"

He is the most inspirational player in the squad and despite the great efforts from Kuipers ,Oatway, Hinshelwood, Hammond and Virgo he is the only player who is Championship quality in the squad, if he goes, the future isn't looking great in my opinion anyway.
