Over the years there have been some very iconic tv adverts, but these days they are few and far between, it's all about social media these days, but I feel an advert is coming into it's own, we are currently on the 3rd version of Nationwide Banking, it is comical.

3rd version because Santander & Virgin take them to court each time (iirc).

They’re so good, I really want to post one of those meerkat adverts, but I can’t decide which one!…….….……….
………….or maybe not! If I’d had anything to do with it. I’d have binned them years ago.

but to go back possibly to a time before most people on here were born, I really liked Edson Blue adverts with Joe, the Esso Blee dooler!
they asked me how I knew
it was Esso Blue.
i of course replied
with lesser brands one buys
smoke gets in your eyes.

My first graduate job was in marketing and advertising research and I did all the testing on the Peter kaye John smiths ads. They did very well. Clever ads.

I seem to recall this advert tested the best for loads of key metrics.

I think this is the ad which makes me most nostalgic sport wise. World Cup 98 was my first as an adult and I loved it.
