I am not sure about that.

A great result maybe, but I am not sure if its likely to be anything other than perhaps a group of decent players punching above their weight, or more likely their best players quickly shipped out to some European clubs where they can access good coaching and some opportunity and experience that makes them competitive.

The numbers are just too small to merit any real progress let alone domination.

Most of their players havent really been touched by Icelands own initiatives, the backwaters of Holland etc. is where their informative coaching experiences have occurred.

Of course upgrading facilities in a country where the climate dominates is clearly an obvious move and good luck to them, but it really isnt the time to glance to Iceland for inspiration.

I am guessing a hardworking agent getting youngsters shipped out to foreign lands is as much to congratulate for their progress as for anything their own FA have achieved.
