we have about 2 or 3 around here, at about 3ish you can hear them driving up to the schools near us (primary and secondary schools at the end of the road) and then they seem to take it in turns for the next couple of hours to drive up my road pissing me off!!

Perhaps sales of Mars and Twix ice creams at my nearest Tesco are too strong for the Mr Whippys of this world to bother :(

We've got friends who has told his kids (6, 4 & 1) that when it plays music, it means they've run out of ice cream.

Seems to have done the trick apparently.

We did something similar to our kids. When our daughter was about 3, she wondered what the music was, we told her that it was a mobile church calling people to prey in the streets!! She believed it for ages, though when she got older she threatened to report us to Childline if we didn't make up for the lost ice cream!

Love the guff they;ve written on that Star Wars lolly:

DARTH VADER
Darth Vader personifies the evil of the Galactic Empire. The awesome malevolent figure dressed in flowing black robes keeps his face forever masked by a grotesque breath screen.

:lolol:

just been along to a park with the young starrys and along came the ice cream van.

i asked the young ice cream maker man about two ball screwballs and he looked at me as if i had asked for blood from a stone. apparently its been a long time since they existed.

i purchased a trusty zapp for myself, a 99 with nuts and chocolate sauce for one child and an oyster with extra coconut for the other.

he was selling (not our usual ice cream chap) a whole stack of other treats that i dont remember from when i was young everything from batteries to bananas.

They won`t come round Moulscoomb for obvious reasons Edna.

It's 'Moulsecoomb', and where i was bought up, always an ice-cream van around.
Also used to have a van came round every day selling Bread, Milk, and other essentials, used to call it the 'Grey' van, for obvious reasons, any one else have this?
