Yes we’ve just witnessed how a few injuries causes major concern.
At one point we had March / Ansu Fati / Adingra / Mitoma all injured as well as issues wtth Estupinan/ Lamptey.
Thats not just a "few" injuries in specific positions and really hard to prepare for. And club - now that its largely over - coped pretty well.
In fact the club does pretty well - in terms of depth with injuries normally (the wide player gap was a bit of a one off) given how flexible our squad is and skilled RDZ is at developing different options to reflect that. (See Spurs/Palace and the cup games) . We're not Palace - in crisis because Olise and Eze are out.

Just been reading the comments on the fab IG post. Lot of people saying insane price for a kid who hasn't done much in the danish league.
Not sure people understand our model then. We don’t buy finished articles - we buy players based on stats and what they could become. They don’t all work out but this lad is up at the top of the tree for take on’s, successful dribbles, shots ect - our coach and club will look to harness that talent and make it even better. What we do

Yes but 20m is a lot !! Brighton tax only going one way at the moment

I would also argue that our usual kid signings are tearing it up in their local leagues before we sign them like caciedo , maccer , barco , bonny etc

It's an interesting one.

£17m, but still a lot for someone with his goals and assists in a lower level league.
However it seems as if we are buying his potential.
He’s very quick and strong.

mac allister was by no means ‘tearing it up’ at argentinian juniors and we were pretty much the only club with a serious interest. and i do recall some saying that they were surprised we went for adingra out of all the players in the danish league, and not say, sulemana or lindström.

i don’t always necessarily think the exact number of players brought in is always correct, but on the players we do sign, i implicitly trust the club. if they feel he’s worth that much then i’ve got no evidence in recent years to disagree with that

Looks nowhere near the finished article but clearly offers elite level pace and the ability to press with great intensity. Would guess he’s got every chance of coming straight into the first team squad for next season.

Can only assume that we think he is worth it. He’s not in an obscure league he’s part of a well known academy, we are not plucking him from nowhere like some of the aforementioned names either

I’ve seen £15m quoted in a couple of stories and assuming fig inflated due to add ons.

Will be Mitoma's repacement as Mitoma hasn't signed a new contract and will probably be off in the summer.

How times change - apparently signed a player for 15-20m and there seems to be a bit of meh about it (or from some at least). Not so many years back this thread would have had lots of excited replies

You're being generous again, as is your wont. The figure I've seen quoted is 19.5m Euros -- this is what Ornstein reported. What most of those that like to sound off do is to immediately translate that into £20m. This then leads into all sorts of other assumptions and projections.
It's a bit like when transfers happen and there's a range: for instance, BHA fans insist that we've got £55m for Mac Allister, whereas Liverpool fans repeatedly quote £35m. I don't know the amount, but I'd imagine it was something like £35m up-front and an extra £20m in add-ons, which are performance-related and probably not just about Ali Mac's performance but also Liverpool's.

Just reporting what i've seen.

Daily Mail " agreement on a £16.6m fee with a further £2.5m due in add ons and a 10percent sell on clause."
Telegraph "closing in on a £15m deal"
Both Romano and Ornstein "Understand Nordsjælland will receive €19.5m fixed fee plus €3m add-ons."
The Sun "BRIGHTON have agreed a deal with Nordsjaelland to sign the talented Ibrahim Osman for £19.5million. "

I tend to agree regarding Pervis. Not been putting in great performances ( when fit) and I think his head has been turned. Reckon Liverpool will want him to replace Robertson. Also last season Roberto said he needed another year with us. He’ll have had that at the end of the season.
I think that's a silly comment. He may or may not be going this Summer, but firstly he is definitely trying for us ( note the two goals he has scored since Christmas).
Secondly, he has been injured, and is clearly nursing that injury (he was limping off when subbed a couple of weeks ago).
Thirdly, and probably most importantly, the way to guarantee a move to Liverpool is to play your heart out and show your good enough, not put in sub-par performances. (Especially as your manager at Liverpool could be your current manager 😜).
Even Caicedo recognised that after his mid season strop. He came back and had a storming few months for us.

Does sound like quite a lot but he must meet our criteria when we evaluate a player's potential. I thought Pedro looked to be massively overpriced given his record at Watford but 30 million looks like daylight robbery now, I suspect he's more than doubled in value with the season he's had so far.
