Try to catch his interview on Sky Sports News talking about Sepp Blatter and his comments about playing the Qatar world cup in the winter!!!

Absolutely brilliant!!

The thing about Holloway is that everyone loves his heart on sleeve approach to interviews while he is successful at a plucky club punching well above its weight. When he's losing though, he comes across as an absolute tit.

Bit like Phil Brown at Hull when he did that half time team talk on the pitch at Eastlands. He looked like a right tosser just a few weeks later when his team went into freefall.

People like Holloway should be running FIFA, it would be a little chaotic at times and you might not be sure what was going to happen...but you sure as hell wouldn't get a World Cup Finals anywhere as stupid as Qatar!

Good, I'm glad it's not just me.

It was mildly amusing at first but now Sky Sports going to ask him about every world issue just because they know he is going to say something daft is quite frankly boring!

I was expecting him to appear on Newsnight the other night about student university fees.

I won't go so far as to join a backlash against Holloway but I am starting to feel like he is a bit attention-seeking and says "controversial" things for the sake of it?

He was on sunday extra a few weeks back saying that he doesn't want to be known as the guy who speaks his mind in interviews, he wants to try and not be so him. Doesn't seem to have stopped.

His argument about us not moving/splitting the league to accommodate the world cup. He spoke purely from the epl's point of view*, acting as if the world cup should accommodate our league, because it's the world's competition and we're part of the world. Surely, if we're just talking from the point of view of one country's league, they should be moving to accommodate the world cup, since the world cup is for the world, 32(?) countries are involved in it not just one, so it's rude for us to demand they move?

*I know, it's not just the EPL that would be affected, but Holloway isn't talking from the point of view of all the european leagues, he is talking about his own.

He may be deliberately touting controversy, but at least its more interesting than the dull cliches spouted by the likes of Gerrard, Ferdinand, Terry etc at every interview

He's quality. It's like a proper fan has got a job at the top table. Of course he won't be to to everyone's taste, especially some of the highbrow knobs on here.

I like him, one thought though, if the World Cup does take place in winter and England haven't qualified and just say we are in the top flight. How would people react on here ...... long shot I know:lol:

Was the prospect of breaking the season for European countries in Qatars bid ? Or playing games in other desert countries ?

The decision to award to Qatar was allegedly based on "inducements",and it seems the goalposts are about to move. USA and Australia probably have a private view on this. What a gay decision !

The guy is brilliant entertainment, but also spot on most of the time.

He's been like this for years though, and most of us have seen it in his interviews for Plymouth, QPR etc. It's just the topics he is now asked about a bit more high profile!!

I hope he doesn't go too far and just become a parody of himself, as I think he's a genuinely bloody good manager.
