Me too. When Ingrams retired and Cook died I thought the Eye was done for. But Cook's widow was good as gold, and Hislop is perfect. He combines a moral authority with fairness and judgement, targeting the shitbiscuits of the UK and elsewhere with measured wit. Never bulling, never biased, never preachy, never pretentious, never ruffled. Left and right alike are targeted on merit without any need for point tallies. Perfect for HIGNFY too.

I'm fortunate to work on a podcast with someone who writes the HIGNFY scripts and by all accounts Hislop is just a wonderful all round human being.

Well written article as ever.

https://www.private-eye.co.uk/news

You have to admire the way Hislop punches up towards the powerful, rather than down towards the powerless, like, say, Dick Littlepenis.

I'm sure the Mail reading, immigrant hating clique on NSC don't want me to have my views but I'll probably post this over and over again whenever I've been drinking.

Thank ya in advance for all those thumbs up. I'm off to eat a goat.

Obviously a dig aimed at me. So small minded to assume just because you read the DM you are 'immigrant hating.' I also read the Guardian so does that make a sandal wearing, beard sporting, Labour voter? Would you be able to provide me any evidence of my 'immigrant hating' hating views please that I've posted on here? Thanks.

Not specifically, no. But a quick review of your post history shows there is a racial theme running through a number of your posts. It’s clearly a topic which occupies your mind.

How about you share a few of those then and tell us how well written they are, and why.

I know. For a while there I thought I was going to have to have chips with no fish.

Yeah no worries if I do happen to see a well written article I will share it on here.

A 'bite?' no a reply to a fair point made on a chat forum.

Isn't it nice when people in public life that you like turn out to be genuinely nice when out of the limelight ? I remember clearly the opposite with a red haired scouse, singer/presenter who was regularly drunk and abusive to staff on the flights back to her weekend home in Spain post filming.

She’s been featuring quite often in Popbitch this week and you’re not alone in that assessment.

A pal worked as BA cabin staff and had first hand knowledge, woe betide the cabin staff if she ran out of booze.

Tory party donor in tax evasion shocker. Not even a shock any more is it?

And whilst the creeping toadies at HMRC were giving this crook time to pay his taxes, they were taking aggressive action against small independent businesses owing a pitifully small amount of tax / VAT by comparison.

Surely nobody can really be surprised at the Tories protecting and giving favourable treatment to their own.

And Hislop is a genius. love the fella

I’m probably being hugely optimistic in hoping that if and when things settle down, the government will retrospectively means test some of these so called impoverished claimants. Government support should be a safety net for those who need it, not an entitlement for any old (allegedly) fraudulent **** who might be down to his last few million.

If we're talking about the same red haired, scouse singer, (who was a lorra lorra laughs, I'm told).
The glorious Cold War Steve on Twitter includes a hidden picture of her in each of his works. The picture used was taken in a busy pub/ restaurant where a customer had reserved a table and arrived to find her sitting at the reserved table. She refused to move.

Says it all.

No it doesn't.

But this does.

I know, but the post has a double point to it. Someone (who may well count Richard Littlejohn as his favourite writer) HATES Hislop for some reason.

Still, I thought I'd bring something actually interesting to my satire rather than another tiresome trolling piece attacking the poor.

Probably aimed at me. Correct RL is my favourite writer. Incorrect I don't hate IH (can you find a post where I've said i do)? If memory serves me I likened a poster on here to him and I believe the word I used was 'smug'. Saying you think someone is smug isn't saying you hate them.

It doesn't. All you both have got is the predictable 'racist' insult but with absolutely nothing to back it up.
'Absolutely nothing' you say. There is more than that. If there weren't then the 'insult' (I'd call it more an observation) wouldn't be so predictable.
