A lot of his music is dross but occasionally he pulls a rabbit out of the hat, e.g. All Ablaze, the last single. Great tune. His stuf with Unkle was good as well.

Live, utter rubbish. Seen him twice and both times it has been disappointing. No stage presence or charisma, mumbles the words and when one hears 90 minutes odd of tracks from throughout his career you realise that they are very similar and single paced.

But, I would imagine his greatest hits package, with a few remixes chucked in, would sort the wheat from the chaff and make a great xmas present. Just dont bother with the live side of things.

Brown is a legend. End of.
Take his criptic lyrics out of the roses and you would have been served up with squires useless jibberish. Anyone heard the Squire penned lyrics to 2nd Coming?!

Alright, live Brown over the years has let himself down. But. Anyone who caught him at the Brighton centre recently and heard him belt out the classic roses tunes like Adored, waterfall, and she bangs drum would have 2 admit hes got his act together. All his solo singles have been very good tunes in their own right as well and a greatest hits CD is perfectly acceptable to me.

LONG LIVE KING MONKEY.

He may be tone deaf, but he has written some cracking songs over the years.

I had the pleasure of seeing him play at Brixton Academy a few years back, and it was a GOOD gig.
