good luck mate, had mine taken out a few years ago, make sure you eat as soon as you can cause it helps with the scab and heals quicker

Revoltingly, someone was telling me they now suggest people eat ROUGH-EDGED food like crusty bread afterwards - to wash all the gory bits away.

Thats the old way of doing it. They make you eat things like toast and crisps now because it helps heal it faster. Good luck Rambo hope it all goes well.

When I were a lad they used to whip out your tonsils - and your adenoids - when you were about five years old or something, even if there was nothing wrong with them.

Me and little Bulldog had our tonsils out within weeks of each other, he was about 5 or 6 and I was mid 30's and within hours he was merrily chomping away on toast and crisps where as in my case it still hurt to swallow anything a week later. He took great pleasure in telling me to stop being a big baby because it does'nt hurt to have your tonsils out. :lolol:

I got advice not to eat ice cream when I had it done, although it was soothing. Eat stuff with rough ends such as buscuits or crisps. It's meant to heal quicker.

Good luck.

I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out when I was 6 (I had really bad throats for over 3 years prior to that)
I was sick in the night and got smacked by a nurse for getting blood on the sheets.

It was in Pompey which made it worse.

Thanks for all the messages of support.

Starting to feel a bit better now after 4 days!

Bloody painful and, yes I have been told to eat crisps and toast, which really hurts!

Gonna lay in bed an listen to the Vale game, wish I could be there today, but guess i have a reasonable excuse.
