Oldham's message board reckon that Dowie is lined up to take over at Stockport or Northampton.

Given that DK must know Coppell is going I guess part of the reason why he is trying to hurry the decision is to get Dowie in if and when Coppell goes.

Losing Coppell would be even more annoying if the next best potential candidate has already jumped to another club. :glare:

I am far from sold that Dowie will be the messiah everyone thinks he will be.

Isn't there a potential CPFC issue again which is part of SCs honourable defence yesterday as to why we have never really backed him - allegedly

Agreed. It's heart warming to see the class of club he's being linked with - we bigger than both of these.

I think we'll see Coppell leave early next week and Dowie appointed before next weekend. ;)

DK has never bought the 'must be Albion lover' type manager with the exception of Nobby.

I think he will go for the best man for the job and ideally an up and coming manager. Therefore Dowie is in the frame and so is Keith Curle. Probably rules out Kinnear though.

For all our shortcommings we must be a better bet than either Northampton or Stockport.

I wouldn't be so sure - they have football grounds we don't and that is the major issue.

DK can sell any vision he likes but if that doesn't become reality this is what happens.

It really is very simple for us - Falmer or bust

Doesn't northamptons ground only hold just over 7000? Not that much better than withdean and with no hope of moving to a big shiny new stadium as they already have their shiny new stadium.

And stockport? There's no way they're a better option than us, even with the hindrance of withdean.

Whether dowies the best man for the job is another matter, as is whether there'll actually be a job for him here(I'm still hoping SC stays).

yer but its still a ground even if it does hold only 7000 least they have four sides and no running track.

What is in Withdean is not the issue.

I couldn't give a shit if it had a running track and 29 sandpits, so long as we could get enough people in to generate sufficient revenue.

Build a running track around Falmer.
