Sky plus is rubbish. Virgin is better and cheaper.

I still have contacts in the Sky TV game from when I used to do installs. They say that still the majority of jobs they do are transfers from Virgin to Sky. Sky maybe more expensive but when you're talking about something that most people cant do without it's worth the extra money I reckon.

Tried that but as I changed my package to TV/Broadband/phone in January I am locked in until 7/1/09.
If you wait until the new year you will be in a better position as they dont want to lose a triple play customer. Mention that you are going to cancel the satellite sub and switch to another ISP and calls provider , they will shit themselves and offer you a deal , hopefully a new (not refurbed) Sky + box for £49 and free install. In the run up to Xmas they are not so worried about cancellations because of all the new orders coming in.

what pisses me off is that Sky has special offers for new customers but existing customers who have paid subscriptions (like me for the last 13 years) always get shafted.

Right here, right now
You tight fuckers! If you can't afford something then maybe you shouldn't get it!
Its not about being tight. Its about getting a good deal.

I have a wife and two kids that depend on me and my earnings. I want to provide the best I can for them and will do whatever I can so if that involves trying to get a deal where I can, whether it is on my mortgage, my gas/electric supplier or on Sky+, then I will do it.

I work two jobs and sell what I can in the Friday Ad or on Ebay.

Have you never negotiated a price for something? A car? A house? Did they turn round and call you a tight bastard?

I wish I was in your situation Timbo, so that I could just pay for whatever, without having to worry about how much it costs.

Thats exactly what pisses me off too. I have been with Sky for 9 years and have TV, Broadband, phone and line rental but they didn't want to give me f*** all.

Eventually told them I wanted to cancel, got put through to cancellations and ended up getting offered a Sky+ box for £49 plus £30 installation.

They are coming to fit it on Thursday! :clap2:

:lolol:Get over yourself!

Where have I said I don't need to worry about how much anything costs?! And I think it's great you do so much so you can take care of the absolute day to day essentials such as Sky+.
