I thought we retired squad number 25?

Scott Chamberlain went for a trial in Finland with a Div 2 team along with Chris Winterton a few weeks ago. Winterton offered a contract, but Chamberlain was not.

Out of interest, where is the squad number list? I can't find it, I know there has been information gleaned form the club shop on a couple of players, but nothing I have seen as official. The numbers the players have been using in the friendlies have varied. Crofts for instance has worn 18 and 20 that I have seen, and I think he may have worn 8 as well.

The reason it isn't retired, I guess, is that we're not in the NFL or something similar, can you imagine MU's numbers if they retired a shirt everytime they had a legend play for them, they'd be starting at around 25 now!

I always thought right wing was number 7 and left wing was 11?

I seem to remember we always had 5 and 6 at centre half. 4 was right mid-field.

From memory the 25 wasn't used for a little while after Bobby Zamora left, but there was never any suggestion of the shirt being 'retired'.

I think the first player to wear 25 after that was Steve Claridge
who produced a masterclass of how to play the lone striker role in our win at West Ham
