There's a whole section on United in the history book, so it must be to do with the club.
Are you doubting TC and RH?
Are you calling me a heretic?!
I seem to remember from reading the book that Brighton United were disbanded and Brighton & Hove Rangers subsequently established as a completely different club (but with the involvement of some Brighton United fans and players who wanted the area to still have a football team). Brighton & Hove Rangers were also officially disbanded but the ties between them and Albion were a lot stronger - and it really just amounted to the re-establishment of the club under a different name.
But only the History Man can tell us for sure...
Btw, when Southampton played us in the last match at the Dell that was because their first match there was also against Brighton. But it was actually against Brighton United - and, as pointed out in our programme a little while ago, this was a misunderstanding as United were a different club and really have nothing to do with the Albion.
