I think two points this week is a real positive.

Okay, so we haven't been playing to the same level as previous games but I can't help but feel we are still a much better team.

I'm sure many others feel the same when I say we would've been lucky to even score, let alone get a point, in these two games last season...

Yes, we are missing CMS massively, and yes, we maybe lacking the finish elsewhere, but I sympathise with Gus.

At the start of the season his plan A was crucially alongside Vicente, who had a blinding pre-season and look like he would take the league by storm, alone. Now his mysterious "tendon injury" (read it how you like), meant Gus had to formulate a plan B. Something many of us were calling out for constantly last season.

And his plan B worked. The style looked just as offensive as plan A and we were exploiting CMS' strengths and boosting his confidence.

Eveything was looking great, but then CMS gets injured. Everyone of us would have felt that sharp dagger knowing we are going to miss him, badly too.

So now Gus is formulating plan C...Barnes and Dobbie. We all know Barnes is everyones Marmite player (either love him or you hate him). I personally love him and does his job/plays well. Could he fit CMS' role?! No. And the same goes to Dobbie too.

I think Dobbie is a good player, but to hope for him to shine is unlikely, he hasn't scored that many career goals making me feel Gus hasn't got the right man for the job he wants completed.

Dobbie hasn't really played that much competitive football in recent years, albeit the odd loan spell here and there for Blackpool, so to get him in the starting XI is like throwing your 5 year-old in the deep end of a swimming pool to learn how to swim! Ineffective and questionable.

Which is why I think 2 points is a real positive for us. With no CMS or Vicente we have managed to get these results, playing below average (as some may say). If that was last season, a player would've probably been sent off and Ankegren/Brezovan would've made a game changing error (based on last season of course).

Our team today is soo much better than last season, some of us do need reminding of that! Kuszczak, Bridge, Bruno, Crofts, Hammond, Orlandi and Lopez. It says it all!

Those two points have put us in a decent position in the play-offs, if we were outside of that, it would've massivelly impact on the squad (and fans') morale having been top over a week ago.

No Vicente we got were top of the league and everyone didn't feel he was a necessity as we thought last season.

But we do miss CMS the most, truly we do. CMS is making a much greater impact and is really living up to the hype we felt last season which is brilliant. The sooner we get him back on that pitch the better and pursue the way to the promise land.

Sorry but you have to be deluded to take a positive from this weeks results. The only way these could be seen as positive is if we had been in 24th position at 5pm last Saturday instead of 1st. We have played 3 teams in the bottom half of the table, two of which were at home and against teams currently in the bottom 4. Our target for this year must be a play-off place and we won't get that if we can't beat the teams at the bottom. We may well have been without CMS but we should have a plan B, or even plan C.

I suppose you were hoping we would be able to get 1 point from the next 3 games after our win versus Millwall to be thinking it's 'positive'.

A positive? Really? Shocking form we are in. Poor poor scoring record without CMS so far. It's clear we need some muscle up front

Real positive has to be the astoundingly low number of goals conceded shirley? Tremendous base to build on! Just need to be able to stick one in the other end occasionally and we'll run away with this division...

I kind of get your point that, this sort of slump would have produced a worse outcome last year.
This slump is disappointing after the great start that we had enjoyed.

The lack of CMS has been marked and has shown that without some back up, we will struggle to push for promotion...
But we are close, very close to it now.

Gus did not spend much in the last window, and has repeatedly said that the type of quality striker we need costs big money.
Maybe the real positive that will come from this is that we are starting to prove to Tony Bloom that we are just one big signing away from the premiership.

How dare you not be swallowed up in negativity and pessimism?! Don't you know after losses and draws no one wants to look at the positives of the big picture. No one wants to look at the improved defence (6 conceded v 14 after ten games last season), no one wants to look at missing Bruno, Crofts, Vicente, CMS for at least two games and still managing to get 15 goals so far, no one wants to look at us having more points now than we did after ten games last season (both in total, and in comparison to the same teams played last season).

Don't be so positive and look at the season as a whole. Don't you know we just failed to win at least three games in a row, something that has occurred 10 times now under Gus, which clearly hampered his attempts to progress through surviving in league one, gaining promotion from league one (5 game winless run in the middle of the season, 4 game at the end), gave us a top half finish in our first year back in the championship (our highest finish since the early 90s), and to now having us being taken seriously as contenders by other teams in the division and sports media (i.e. not just by those of us with blue and white tinted glasses) and being referred to as our opponents toughest game.

Things are bad, philzo. Dire. The world may end, and it's time you acted accordingly.
