I think that Tommy Elphick should play against Rotherham

He played about an hour last night, Leslie and as luck would have it (depending on your opinion) he is deemed to be ready for the start of the season, I believe.

No... bad news... only use Mayo at lb as last resort... too fcuking slow...

But it is all we have. At least if there are five it will offer protection in numbers.

You have a point there... and I'd rather see Mayo at cb in a 5 than at lb in a 4, where he will be exposed for lack of pace...

campbell-ryce you may be thinking off, i think he is at southend,

i would think that richie partrigde will play right mid, i think he is more gifted then has pace. i may be wrong though

Which is how I have it set up.

Who will Rotherham have up front?

more than likely delroy facey and will hoskins - hoskins is incredibly underrated, an england under 19 international who has never really got the chance to shine due to injuries. he scored twice in 5 minutes on his debut as a sub at wigan a few years back. he is very very good, presuming he is fit, although mr knill is looking to bring in a target man from the championship before saturday

i would imagine partridge will be wide down one flank, with lee williamson in the centre, and he is pretty tasty. eugen bopp will no dobut partner him should he sign, but with andy monkhouse released really not sure who will be on the left

oh, wide left will probably be michael keane, who may be remembered for his performance for grimsby a few years back

I'm all for the youngsters breaking through and I think Elphick has every chance of doing so.

I'd think twice about starting him though. Mainly a tackle at Aldershot springs to mind, when he went to ground for a relativly easy tackle, blocked the ball but didn't clear it away and got left on the floor as the striker ran on towards goal.

Its these little errors that could cost us in the league.

I'd have: Reid, El-Abd, Lynch, Mayo from the current crop.
