Just over a week ago; many users were incredibly optimistic perhaps even slightly complacent. However that isn't my issue. My issue is that how so many users can be hippocritical is beyond me, i'm not naming names as this is generally the rule of the thumb: How many of you pledged your support to Slade through think and thin, and after just two league games some are even debating whether he is the man to take us forward! Just take a look at the current first page of the big board, there isn't a single thread containing any sort of support. Okay Murray was a bit of a fool to commit the deed which he did; i think Murray has become a bit of a scapegoat for some people, who are bewildered why we aren't flying high. I don't particularly want to reiterate what so many have said; however we virtually are a new side, and i can't understand how anybody after two league games can criticise a player for a "bad" performance, it's the same concept as starting at a new job, you're reluctant to come out of your shell for a while. I know many, including myself genuinely believe we could do a superior job as manager at times, But i genuinely believe Slade is the man to take us forward, so why don't you all who aren't already: cut the team some slack for a while, and i'm not saying for a prolonged period, but seriously two games is nothing. Lets truly get behind the team, come on! :albion1:

well said. completely agree.

having been to both league games, i've been happy with what i saw. (not the results of course) i believe, the team are getting better, and beginning to gel, and playing some nice football (along the floor). the defense is no where near as frail as last season (even though the back line is virtually the same), and the back 5 have looked solid most of the time. we have been lacking a bit in the centre, and our strike force is looking a bit weak at the moment, but i feel we have the right players up front (i am not entering the murray debate here!) and once they get their confidence/match fitness back i believe they will fire us up the league.

slade has always said it is a work in progress, and i believe we will make that progress soon enough.

give the man a break and let him get on with his job!

we got our first point at griffin park for years, and people still moan.

Slade is the man to take us forward, he showed that last year, and with a little time he will prove it this year.

Yep too early in the season to say what is happening. Based on Saturday's performance I would say we are getting there but are just short of being a squad capable of challenging. A couple of signings though could easily make us play off contenders. Big positive for me is how well the Virgo/Elphick combo is working. As solid a pair as we have had for a long time, and makes a mockery of why Virgo was played in every other position but centre half for most of last season.

There would be people on here who'd be calling for the managers head if we'd appointed Jose Friggin' Mourinho in the close season!

I reckon some people could well be having a major panic on due to The Stadium actually becoming a physical reality. I just hope Bloom holds his nerve & doesn't make any uncharacteristic decisions based on sudden knee-jerk reactions, because I reckon mounting a serious promotion challenge could well take the best part of 18 months of bloody hard graft.

You must remember that posters such as Ernest are doing it for a 'joke'. To the newcomer it must appear that the collective on NSC don't know their arse from there elbow, but once you work out who the boring twats are they can be safely ignored. If you were to do a poll about Slade, or anything to do with the playing side, you would get a good reflection of the general feelings of NSC users, and they would probably be similar views to yours. Unfortunately, the first port of call for the attention seeker is to start a negative thread, hence the front page full of bullshit.

the sad thing is , it's not the younger school-aged posters that are the problem

it's the few between the younger posters and the wise old heads that seem to be the problem , that have completely given up and see only a half empty glass
