I lived in Melbourne for a couple of years. If you think Brighton is a predominantly white city try, Melbourne. There are quite a few asians, the odd aborigine but hardly any black people. So, it's probably a fairly accurate portrayal of Melbourne life.

The only indigenous Australians that appeared in soaps in the old days were typecast as alcoholics or criminals , as in Prisoner (Cell Block H) . When an old mate of mine , Leroy went on holiday to Oz everyone thought he was a yank until he opened his gob and they heard his sarf London/Jamaican accent.

How to upset an Oz tell them that Australia is a lovely place and the Australians are lovely people the only ones who spoil it are the white people who live there.

and i bet you would be one of the first to be "oh so offended "and brand someone a "racist twat" if they were to tell a black person that they werent true english , the double standards of some people amazes me
