The dull part of the south coast
Down here in Southampton-sur-le Solent, well, Totton to be exact, there is much chagrin over a club holding a controversial evening of entertainment. Firstly on the shock horror list is a Hitler impersonator, complete with the dictator’s hairstyle and moustache. He performs under the name of Frank Sanazi and sings reworded Sinatra songs such as ‘Mein Way’, ‘You’ve Got Me Under Berlin’ and ‘You Make Me Feel German’.

To compliment this choice of top notch cabaret that wonderful champion of all things liberal, Katie Hopkins, is also booked to appear.

It should be a cracking night out - jackboots ready everyone. :drink:

Definitely not cutting edge political satire but I see lots of tacky nights out advertised. I just don’t go.

I’m sure if the subject material was joking about black slave trading or gay people or Islam etc , it would quickly be stopped by aggressive protests .

I'm sure Katie Hopkins will cover that.

Frank Sanazl doesn't bother me but the connection to Katie Hopkins does. Rather like Till Death us do Part, it's a problem if it attracts people who don't realise it's satire. Coincidently, today is a "Day of Hate" in the US, peticularly Florida, where assorted neonazis will be out and about targeting synagogues and other Jewish establishments.

Not really, but it is attached to the sea - a bit like Durrington-on-sea or Clacton-on-sea, but then you’ve got Goring-by-sea and Shoreham-by-sea. Take your pick. Oh, there’s also Boulougne-sur-mer, vive la France!
Attached to the sea? What does that mean? Shirley it is just attached to the Solent......

I seem to remember a similar outpouring of shock, horror and general disbelief here in Hove when there was a Blue Comedian and Daily Sport strippers booked for a Gentleman’s evening at the old A & L Social club back in the late 90’s, The Hyde iirc, it went ahead and everyone in Hangleton survived to see live another day 😉
