[Travel] I need to get to Hasting from Falmer this afternoon

I need to get to Hasting from Falmer this afternoon, do the matchday ticket cover this?
I know this has been covered before and before but as I use trains very infrequently I have always skipped ovee those threads, .
Assuming it doesn’t do I need to buy a ticket form when the free travel ends to Hastings, or do I still have to buy a ticket for the whole journey from Falmer to Hastings?

The guard does come round a bit more often these days on the way over. Can’t remember last time ticket was checked on the way home.
