How much storage do you need and do you need it to be portable? You'll get a lot more for your money if you go for an external desktop drive than a portable drive . However, they're not as convenient if you want to take it out and about as they're bigger and need external power.

Depends what you're requirements are.

I bought a 1 TB Western Digital last month at PC World for £68. Couldn't believe the value. No frills but works a treat.

I was after some external disk space the other day and was intending to get a USB memory stick - but when I got to Currys, they didn't have any in, but they did have a 250gb Maxtor USB drive (£58 I think). Fantastic, just plugged it in and it worked straight away, no setup or anything.
