I'm also looking to buy a new shed. However, was thinking of one of those metal/plastic coated ones to save treating wood work in future.

However, the metal ones don't look very sturdy so not yet sure which way to go on this. Anybody had any experience of metal sheds?

I have WOOD just thinking of sheds.

I love sheds.

Double doors, yum.

I have a Tiger shed. Stevie Wonder could have put it up.

The metal ones are good if you have a completely level concrete base, the slightest deviation from level and you are entering a world of trouble. Also pretty easy to slice yourself open putting them up, which is generally much more complicated than a decent wood one.

Also worth considering that a wood shed is easier to reinforce, customise, put in shelves, hooks and so forth.

My mum got one from a place in Portslade and after a few months the planks started curling, leaving gaps. When she told them they said "it's probably due to being left outside in all weather"
I spoke to the bloke and asked him if I should buy another, better, shed to keep it in.

Horrible things, built for for a customer recently, unlike a normal wooden shed of 4 sides and a roof the metal ones come in 6 boxes and 1,124 pieces.
Although when fully built there are quite rigid, each sheet of metal is the same thickness as 3 pieces of tin foil, and very sharp, plenty of cut fingers.
Because there are so flimsy you need at least two people to assemble it to ensure it does not fold or bend, each piece needs the next to support it.
Plus need one person each side to tighten the little nuts and bolts.
Wooden sheds i can put together is a couple of hours on my own, took 2 of us 6 hours to fully assemble a metal one.
