try another place if the jobs down south are no good. why not try somewhere like leeds, manchester, birmingham, sheffield, nottingham, hull, york, newcastle, edinburgh, glasgow, doncaster, bradford, i could go on.
1 thing i wonder though is how you got a degree in law or should i say why did you get a degree in law if you didnt want one. many other people would have loved to have had that opportunity.
other thing is, you really enjoyed the research aspect of the degree. what else is there to find so boring about it. you either enjoy something or dont.
im not clever enough to get a degree, and also couldnt afford to change career at the mo. so even though i hate being a electrician i have to get on with it. where as i suggest you stop whinging about how well you have done.
if you wanted the attention then you should have said look at me i have a degree.
sorry had a bad day and having a rant.

If i had a degree i would certainly boast about it.Fair play to you.Get a decent job and you will be set up for life.Become a barrister and represent BHAFC for nothing against that twatt Neighbour for Lewes.Tare him to shreds and become a cult hero amongst fellow Albion supporters.Give your services for free and we can perhaps sign some decent players:clap2:

Brizseagull,

Theres a big circular building with lots of satellite dishes on it, just up the road from you in Cheltenham. Can imagine they have some "research" jobs these days!

Right, finishd uni, did well (2:1 LLB Law degree) have no desire to enter the legal profession, as its far too dull,

dont know WHAT to do with myself, all the graduate jobs down south are bloody recruitment or sales (which i have 2 interviews for next week)

what should i do? i really enjoyed the research aspect of my degree (dissertation etc...)

what should i do????

How about teaching Law ? I teach Sociology at Sussex Downs college in Lewes and really enjoy it.

All the students are 16-19 so behaviour is not a problem (unlike working in a comprehensive like I did before) and you would still get to put your degree to good use ?

You just need to do a one year PGCE at Brighton Uni :)

If you might be interested in sales, then perhaps that could be a field for you to investigate. ONLY if you represent a reputable company, and are a stand-up responsible and self-motivated sort, it can pay dividends and allow you independence - and you would be your own boss to a large extent.

I'd suggest against selling insurance or something with fairly minor commissions, where you have to make sales every day to survive. Also, I'd suggest you don't go into telemarketting as almost anyone can do it, and it's a hamster wheel in which you will be enslaved, and deadly bored unless you can accept that plight as your lot in life.

The housing/property 'climate' right now is excellent for people doing improvements to their present homes. Planning permissions are slackening off and people are (quite rightly) going to be increasingly investing in expanding and improving their space.

bristolseagull the world is your oyster, once you have a degree you can get a job in most places. My auntie got a Spanish degree and is now doing accounting for the inland revenue.

Forget work it's overated!

Why don't you traval the world for years and smoke pot to your brains dead and generally become a waste of space like the majority of the youngsters.

Surely you don't want to be an upright citzen and earn a living and not scrounge off the benefit system like 80% of this country appears too.

;)

even funnier.

I have a good mate who went to uni who studying corperate accountancy, 3 year course and did 1 year placement at IBM. During that time he was always dj'ing 2 nights a week [£200 a night]

Finished his degree and now dj's all over the country 4 nights a week, £220 a night.

Pisses me off though as everyone is going to uni just for a laugh nowadays, which is why alot of employers are treating degrees differently to 5 years ago

Whereas I'm now a chartered accountant. f***ing have to beat the women off with a shitty stick now!

Maybe. :dunce:
