PIG Cost £NIL
Bridcutt Cost = £ Nil
Barnes Cost = £125,000
Ulloa Cost = £2 million
Spanish Dave Cost = £ Nil
Orlandi Cost = £ Nil
Upson Cost = £ Nil
Ward was on loan
Buckley Cost = £1 million

We have spend £1.5 million on Baldock, £750k on Stephens, £1 million on Stockdale, O'Grady £500,000 so we have already spent more on those players than the ones who left.

Why would you look at their value when joining the club? Obviously we should be looking at their leaving price, as that's what their market value was last season. You know that, you're just trying to make a point and hope he didn't realise.
When Bale left Spurs would the fans have been happy replacing him with a £10m player because he only signed for £7m? I highly doubt it, because his value was a lot more than £7m when he left.

I'm not trying to make a point, I'm responding to the point that was originally made. Murray cost £300,000 and left for nothing, does that mean he was worth nothing when he left, similarly with Upson.

If we had sold Ulloa for £3-4 million (and remember lots of the experts on NSC claimed that was all he was worth because he was 'lazy and disinterested' etc) then would fans be happy because we had reinvested practically the whole sum in COG and Baldock.

Alternatively we could have spent the whole of the Ulloa proceeds buying McCormack from Leeds, and look where that has got Fulham.

Didn't we once have a similar poll when Poyet went on a bad run....... I recall that worked out quite well shortly afterwards.

Jesus. Its not been a great start but unless it is really dire at Xmas and i am thinking bottom 5-6 then the club really could use some stability. We have had 3 managers in the past 2 and a bit years. We have basically replaced an entire squad and it will need time to work. I am a a little worried by the lack of an obvious plan as such but i am sure there is one there that will shone through and we obviously need to stop crossing like Ulloa is still here.

I don't dislike him and thought he was a great player but he's not a winner as a manager, he's inexperienced, he is as dire as OG when he talks and I cannot see us chasing promotion ever with him in charge.doesn't help having Jones as the other alternative voice as he's probably the reason JFC plays every game and takes the corners when he shouldn't do either.

Do you have any evidence to support this claim?

Do you have any evidence to support a claim that he doesn't? Bizarre thing to say. It surprises me immensely that he takes the corners when they are so poor and he offers very little defensively or attacking. I would have thought SH coming in would have not made him such a regular starter. I'm not saying he's crap or anything like that i just wonder why he still plays and did last year too. Do you think he has played well this season, do you have any evidence to support this?

So the poll is pretty even steven. The next few games are going to be pretty fundamental in what we can really expect from the season with some games against classier opposition.

I was asking about your claim that Jones is the reason that JFC is in the team. Wouldn't play him myself, but surely it's Hyppia, not Jones, that makes the final decision, as he is the manager.

We're bottom 7 now, our next 4 fixtures are massive with Forest & Watford away, Cardiff & M'Boro at home. It would be too early to sack him, but make no bones about it right now we're in a relegation battle - the league is littered with cases of clubs thinking they're too good to go down until it's too late. We should stop talking about play-offs right now and just concentrate on getting clear of the bottom 3.

The more I watch the more I see what I think I can see what he is trying to do and I'd certainly give it more time.

He may need some more new faces, more time for the current players to adjust, and/or more time to better understand the Championship and adjust, but most likely a combination of all of those

This season isn't written off by any means and even if it were then barring a catastrophe then I feel we should persevere

A view after only 8 games is hardly going to be well formed but the question was asked!

I don't think anyone is to good to go down in this league. You get in a rut and its hard to get out. We have seen bigger clubs than us fall through the door in recent years. Some it has done wonders for (Wolves currently) whilst others are still recovering. I just think as long as we are not in the bottom 5-6 at Christmas all this talk of the sack needs to be shoved on the back burner and in reality we should not be discussing that sort of thing so early in his reign with a whole new team which still needs time to gel. Stability is required. The club has a great platform to achieve bigger things but i don't think it will be achieved by changing the man at the helm every year or sooner in Hyypia's case. The next 4 are big games. The football itself is not actually that bad at all. We need to add a finishing touch and try and work a little better at the strong points of he forwards. They are all capable of scoring goals. We also need some stability in the team. Best 11 out for the next few games and then minor changes from there.
