During Covid Danny heard about a young lad in whitehawk who’s father passed away and was really struggling. Danny arranged to meet him and spend some time with the lad each week. Danny lost his father young also.

He continues to meet the lad to this day and has done this outside of club or foundation and without any publicity.

Welbeck should head elsewhere

Danny Welbeck’s Brighton contract runs out in the summer and the striker might be considering where he will start next season. The 33-year-old scored a fine opener against Liverpool on Sunday and spent 90 minutes hassling defenders as Brighton played on the break. His workrate was impressive, often joining 10 teammates in the defensive third to slow Liverpool down as much as possible. Welbeck was arguably only starting because João Pedro was injured, while Evan Ferguson, who had not scored in his previous 22 matches, was on the bench. Considering the more youthful nature of competition for places to lead the line, if Welbeck is to get more regular minutes he might need to exit the Amex. If a new contract is not forthcoming or Welbeck thinks the time is right to leave, there will be plenty of offers for a wily striker who keeps proving he has plenty of football and goals in him. Will Unw*n

Will U*win should f**k off.

Played 90 I guess he wont play much against Brentford. Hope we can have Pedro back for cameo by then and that Evan find the netting.

That's a really dumb take on Welbeck's situation. I'm pretty sure he always plays when he's fit

I love Welbeck, really important contribution despite never being the main man.

He's scored exactly 6 league goals in each of his first three seasons with us and is now on 4 for this season. I have become slightly obsessed with him getting six again.

Was searching for a Welbeck thread so I could post the same. Utterly baffled by that take.

How lucky are we to have him at our club and in our team. Absolute role model for any young player.
Absolute role model and a credit to our club. We could not hope to have a better stand in captain.

I would offer him a 3 year contract extension at this stage. If anything, he's improving. I understand the point it's not my money, but how much would we have to pay to bring in a striker who can do what he does for us? And maybe the better question is, would it even be possible to find one realistically signable.

Just far enough away from LDC
We ALL love Danny Welbeck. He is the calm leadership we miss since Gross and Lallana left and when Milner is injured.

Loved him winding up Enzo last night when they were complaining about the 3rd and he said something and pointed to the big screen where it had been replayed. Result? Enzo booking for pushing him

Wow, do they think if he heads away from the goal that the ball would surprise the keeper and go into the goal?
