defensively i like El Abd, and along with Fraser they actually give a shit, Anyone else remember the good old days when Virgo used to chase a lost cause just for the sake of chasing a lost cause? Celtic clearly corrupted him - maybe he just needs a cuddle.

I heard him refered to the other day as bomber. Is this commonplace or just some guy's pet name for him? Anyone?

Dear Russell,

I am available to play on Saturday; my hip is playing up a bit and i would prefer to play at right back but will give 110% if chosen at left back. I used to be very good at back passes to the keeper in my prime.

nearing 54 but still harbour hopes of making it as a pro footballer, rock star and test cricketer!

I'd never say I loved Adam El Abd or even anything about him, but he's alright in defence (as proved last night). Usually I wouldn't advocate him starting as he's more of a 'decent back-up defender', but with Eeyore Elphick and Hinshelwood in the form they are I would definitely choose El Abd at the moment. At least you know (most of the time) what you'll get.

What I do f***ing hate more than anything is El Abd in midfield, but hopefully we've got over that fascination now.

hinshelwood has left albion

I have my heart in my mouth every time he attempts a tackle in our penalty box. I just have visions of him hopelessly missing the ball and chopping down the opposition striker. You can draw comparisons between him and Phil Neville in that respect.

Having seen Saturday's game at Griffin Park where your back four were totally solid for most of the game, I can't imagine how they could have fallen apart big-time last night.

Except that I thought - and said on NSC - that Whing looked uncomfortable playing at right-back, he looked better on the left. Where did he play last night then?

Also I did say that Kuipers looked a bit slow in coming out, though he does handle crosses and shots OK.

My forecast record for Albion games is now 2/2 though I said it would be 2-1 not SEVEN.

El Abd is woeful. I thought Slade had him sussed after his clueless punt up field in the dying seconds at Orient last season. Everyone was screaming for him to play it simple to Carole on the touchline infront of us so he could just waste a bit of time out there and see out the point. What’s El Abd do? Bang it down the pitch where its easily headed clear to Thornton who says thanks very much and nicks them the win. Clueless.

He was always getting into fights at school, he'd seldom lose either, much as I agree he's pretty shite I doubt many of you would say it to his face and come away unscathed

Why make up this rubbish Danny?!! No one would dare get into a fight with him!
