Why the need to try and fix something that isn't broken. LEAVE IT AS IT IS.

30 "randomly chosen" members of NSC want it round. Therefore it will be round.

As long as it looks good, I don't mind. However, I would add that a round badge would not look good on this season's kit.

You need either all blue are thinner stripes for the round badge to work.

Personally, my favourite kit is the blue shirt with white sleeves from the 60's but I do not want it again, or the all blue, all the pinstripes or the round badge or the brighton/hove crests. They have their place in our history and play their part.

Lets do something new if we must change it at all!

A lot of the options shown at the focus group meeting were all-blue round badges. And a lot were blue round badges, with a white ring around them. And some of the "ring" options were thin white rings or thin gold/yellow rings or combinations.

Some innovative seagull designs were included, as well as the existing seagull and the old, slimmer seagull. And then there was the typeface - upper or lower case, with or without an ampersand, and a discussion about where the words could be placed if the badge was circular.

What they looked like on the current shirt was one of the topics that was discussed.

Really? That pleases me greatly. [Genuinely, no sarcasm]

Well that sounds VERY interesting LB. The designs sound very similar to mine... So isn't it nice to have been completely ignored by the club when I've offered to help in any way I possibly can. As a life long fan I feel completely let down by the club.. I'm utterly bemused by all this now.

Because the future starts in August 2011.

Just as Dick Knight designed a new badge as part of his wish to throw away the vestiges of the dark days, Tony Bloom is celebrating the fact that even better times lie ahead.
Also a good marketing coup for Bloom for squeezing more money out of the fans. How long does our current sponsor run untill?

I suspect that the problem lies in the fact that the badge is seen by the club as just one aspect of the new "Albion identity" that is being designed into the new stadium. KSS have been working on this for years and have a contract to complete the job. It includes colour schemes for the public (and private) areas of the stadium, it includes seat designs, it includes lighting, signing, railings, lifts, carpets, curtains, etc etc etc. It also includes the logo / badge / club mark.

The ultimate result will no doubt be stunning. We've seen enough of the work of KSS already to be confident of that. Our problem, as fans, is that we think of the badge as a one-off, stand-alone project.
