Well, don't forget you will be able to load cash onto your ST for purchases at the Amex. It's not a great leap to enable people to use their credit to purchase tickets as well if required.

The Post Office definitely but have a Google as some cards are free, some charge 'application' fee.

Virgin pre-pay debit card is £9.95 to set up , the cards which are free to set up normally charge a fee everytime the card is used but the very small print in the terms and conditions will explain. After googling do more research on other search engines because the finance companies pay to be at the top of lists.

As one of 'the muppets' who queued for tickets, can someone tell me how the hell i can pay for said tickets without having a credit or debit card, and a snowballs chance in hell of ever having one? An answer would be much appreciated.

Surely you have a friend, or family member who could purchase a ticket for you then you give them the cash. I'm often buying concert tickets for friends then they just pay me back.

Just to add to the reasons why people queued - online system wasn't working for me, randomly only allowing me to buy Spurs ticket. "No problem, thinks I, I will give them a call". No chance. Today was convenient for me to pop down and sort it out, so I did.

Because the online site is even more of a waste of time. High volumes of traffic my arse.

But why queue for 3 hours today, simply because it's the day tickets went on sale - why not simply pick a quieter time later in the week?!!!! Or use the website after the rush.

You've got a week to buy your ticket!!!!!!! What's the rush?

10,000 SSCF and 17,000 Spurs. Both of those capacities includes the 'away' allocation. So less available than that to Seagull supporters.

Edit : 6,000 available to us for SSCF and 12,000 available to us for Spurs (on website)

TY and northstandite too will keep my fingers crossed

I've come back home.
Mr Celebration the elder waited inline for 2.5hours to get tickets and travel packs. He said the guys in the shop couldn't understand why it was so busy and that the online system had crashed. He did make friends in the queue tho so that was nice for him!

A very valid point!

Depends how you define 'a quieter time later in the week' I suppose. It couldn't cope with probably no more than a couple of hundred NSC posters at most logging on to check their loyalty points totals the other night. Oh well, not the end of the world eh?

Certainly anything is infinitely preferable to queueing for three hours. Life's WAY too short for that.

Everyone entitled to buy tickets today is guaranteed a ticket at ANY POINT during the next week.

Why waste your time in a queue?

Can I ask, how long have you been an Albion supporter? In over a hundred years the club have never ever got on top of ticketing. I can fully understand why someone would want to go, in person, and pay cash, and have the ticket in their hand asap.

I've been going regularly since 1994. Does that make any difference?

Agreed that the club have never really sorted out the ticketing but surely that's all the more reason not to go the moment doors opened!!!! Especially when they've committed to providing Withdean STHs with tickets for these games. Nobody is going to miss out from this group in the next week.

My advice, login at 9-11pm. Bet there will be no issues.

...but there is evidence that some new supporters have been able to purchase tickets today.

I suppose it's important our systems are stress tested now, and for that you do need the people getting excited and queuing (which is good for interest/media).

I simply didn't understand why someone wouldn't have thought after 20 mins, I'll come back later when it's quieter. That was all.

Perhaps the people queueing for tickets are there for a variety of reasons , wanting to pay cash for tickets , no access to a pc , laptop , i-pad , mobile , need disabled & carer tickets etc etc. Not everyone with a season ticket is registered online and if they are might need a password reset or new account (fan) number. The queue seems quite short compared to when we had proper queues at The Goldstone before the days of postal and phone bookings.

THIS. Because my boy has a carer he has to phone or go in person (the carer). Fingers crossed the system will be upgradad so we can all use it one day.

I bet you £1000 that the club will not let any 1901s/Withdean STHs miss out - regardless of cock ups.

They'd have to sell in the region of 7000-8000 tickets to people who weren't eligible before this became a genuine issue. And that is simply not going to happen.
