I hear Lucas was acting like Communist again yesterday on her soap box at Hove...

Banging on about health service reforms

Do we really want our MP to be conducting her self in such a way?

Surely being (somehow) elected to the House Of Commons would suggest she would make these kind of protestations there.

Her cronies then marched to Mike Weatherley's office to demonstrate.

Mike tweeted that he was at home relaxing and about to choose a film.

Never has a constituency needed a by - election more than Pavilion.
I appreciate she's not your favourite person, but what should she be talking about then? She's an opposition MP talking about a current political issue, and what's more - doing it locally and in the old style. The time to complain is when our MP doesn't do things like that.

And like you I didn't vote for her, but I have to say I think she's been an excellent constituency MP - even if I do have to say that through gritted teeth. Certainly, all politics aside, I prefer her to Weatherley who thinks that super-peak fares for commuters is a 'sensible policy', thus demonstrating that he is a rich twat who only wants to help other rich twats by pricing the riff-raff off the trains.

All of the rest of the Tories on here must be really proud to have you as their flag bearer and spokesperson. Quite amazing how they all rush to your defence when you post such unadulterated rubbish and I am no supporter of the Greens.

Tarquin my Tory cat say Viva la Revolution, speaking French automatically makes him a Communist in my book! No milk today my furry friend.
I to believe the Greens are taking over the world, starting in Brighton turning it into a massive allotment. As my old Principle at Sherborne would say beware anyone who isn't a true blue. All I can say is not in my name or Tarquins.:hilton:

Maybe it's just me, but I thought the green manifesto is very close to the communist manifesto, ie taking service industry back into public ownership, welfare reforms and redistribution of wealth .....isn't that what all the brighton voters wanted?

If not, why did they elect her?

She's not your MP and at least she's representing her constituents.

Your mate Mike has been completely anonymous since being elected for Hove and Portslade. In fact if he travelled over here to Mile Oak he'd probably end up with a nose bleed from being so far from his nice & comfy Hove!

Representing her constituents? Do be serious! Has she even moved into the constituency yet? And most of the people who live in Pavilion completely disagree with anything she says.

She's been completely anonymous since the election. The sooner we're rid of her the better in my opinion. She's a deluded dingbat!

Oh also the last important point that was raised in Parliament (about the traveler situation within Brighton) was raised by Simon Kirby of KempTown and most of the travelers reside in Wild Park, Stanmer Park and around Hollingbury which I'm pretty sure is Pavilion. Really representing us isn't she?

Take heart that this Lucas person has not only made sure her party will lose Brighton but also made it unlikely that they will take a seat anywhere else.

Irrespective of whether you agree with her politics, you've got that post pretty much wrong.

She is one of the hardest working consituency MPs in Westminster. Don't just take my word for it - her fellow MPs and commentators have given her many accolades and awards for her work in the near two years she's been an MP. Anonymous is one thing she is not.

Does she live in Brighton? Of course she does. In her own constituency? Yep. Where? I'm not telling you.

Brovion's post (notwithstanding him not agreeing with her politics) is pretty much spot on.

This doesn't actually mean she works for the constituency. A lot of the ideas she has spoken about within Westminster don't actually directly effect us. The talk about how the voting in Westminster should be changed to accommodate the style of the European Parliament, how does this effect us in Brighton? It technically doesn't. A lot of what I hear from her is a national/world issue rather than a local one. Although I do admit I have heard her speak about local issues I have found these very few and far between.
As I have stated, the issue regarding travelers was bought up by Simon Kirby and not her.

Ok so she does live here, but as I recall this only arose because people were complaining at the fact she was still living in Oxford and commuting to Brighton. Admittedly she didn't want to uproot her son at that stage, however the woman could have left her family there and at least renting in the constituency a long time before she actually did.

I have major issues with Caroline Lucas admittedly, but it mainly stems from the issues I have with the majority of MPs within the country. I personally believe an MP should be from the constituency/town they are running for, or at least have lived in that place for a significantly long time. How do you have an understanding of the local issues if you are from say Brighton and you are going for a constituency seat in Hull? You don't really. Caroline Lucas should have gone for a seat closer to where she was raise (Malvern I think it was), not for Brighton Pavilion which she knew they would win because of the large student numbers and the idea that we are a radical city who believe that change is the only way forward.

Lucas is ruining Brighton for many Brightonian families.

Don't tell me she doesn't influence the council, because she does.

Some people have been thoroughly brain washed by the Green Party. Believing themselves to be involved in some radical new regime that is going to alter the face of British Politics.

In reality the Greens have have made Brighton a political laughing stock. Lucas uses her 'power' to promote her ridiculous Green ideologies , and Brighton suffers from her neglect as a consequence.

The woman thinks Westdene is in Hove!
