I think holidays in Beirut would be out of the question , so Hove would be the next best alternative.
Funnily enough we did ( as a family, I was only 7 or 8 then ) have a short holiday break in Beirut in 1974 en-route to Iran where we lived for 3 years.
Beirut believe it or not was once a cosmopolitan resort before all the troubles.

yep I'm fat and proud. All bought and paid for! I think it's important to know you're inadequacies. You should try it sometime.

the book is a good read, though a more recent docu-movie was a bit gay.
