SO you're saying that the Carioca, the Wine Lodge and the Norfolk have all been flattened? Wow. I shall have to go to the Lennox for a pint to soothe my nerves.

What about that pub by the clocktower roundabout (near the Guildbourne Centre) that looks like the back of a ship? I think it might be called the Ship or the Schooner or something. When I was a boy my Dad used to stagger out of there and say he was staggering because he was pretetending to be on a ship. Well it used to make me laugh.

That was a bank and is now a West Country Pasty shop thing!

Having read this thread I would suggest The Clifton and a kebab and then up to Victoria Park, are the sheds still there and the quiet garden up near the old paddling pool they could tell some stories!!

Thank you all for your help, the bar at the Burlington sounds nice, then maybe next door to the chinese place,if she doesnt fancy chinese then maybe Casa Ciro or Food.
I will probably not be going to the Clifton due to a strange experience in there a few years ago.
Hopefully there may be a romantic walk down the pier at some stage, anybody know if or what time it shuts?

Obviously it goes without saying that if any of you lot venture to take a local lovely out in the SE25 area I will try to be of assistance.

try the restaurant "food" in worthing, its great . classy but relaxed cook a table mind!!

It can't be that great if you have to cook your own table and presumably eat it...

Make sure you're prepared for all eventualities.

hastings
for casual, casa ciros, sofa [think they do food midweek evenings too], pomodoro mozzarella, food is a good shout too though not sure the menu has changed at all since it opened, indigo @ the burlington is very nice, though the chefs have changed so not sure how that has affected it, people rave about picassos for spanish but i do not rate it

hope this helps!

the indigo is at the ardington hotel

Cant believe it,I went past the Clifton today and it has been boarded up,I am sure it will not be much of a loss to the public of Worthing.

On a lighter note, the relationship is going well and I have been to many of the places suggested and have not been disappointed yet.
