The Wonder Stuff are touring with Jesus Jones to celebrate the 20th year, of The Eight Legged Groove Machine.

20 fookin years ago.

I loved that album, and only last week I thought about listening to it again. Just to see if it had withstood the sands of time.
I decided against it, just incase it hadn't.

Now I have the option to see them/it live, what am I to do?

Hup was a bit gash, IMO. By the time they did "size of a cow" and "dizzy" I'd completely lost interest.

'Hup' was the next album after 8LGM, and was pretty decent - 'Don't let me down' and all that. It was the NEXT one that was gash. Was it 'Reconstruction for the Modern Idiot' something like that.

No, it was Never Loved Elvis. Reconstruction For The Modern Idiot was a couple of years after, had On The Ropes on it. ELGM was superb. Hup was almost as good, Never Loved Elvis wasn't too bad apart from the singalong stuff. Sleep Alone was brilliant.

saw em at Cardiff uni in '88 on the ELGM tour. Had never heard of them before, but my mate dragged me down from Aber Uni to see them. That meant a half day on the train via Shrewsbury to get there. Was near legless by the time we got there, but absolutely amazing gig!

Would love to see that combo, but by the time they come to Leeds in May, Jesus Jones won't be suporrting. Will still go though!

Aah. Indeed you are right, Arse.

Forgot the Elvis one altogether. Both that and the Reconstruction one sit proudly in my CD mountain, having probably been played about three time each. 8LGM and Hup on the other hand date from my stooodunt days and that and have been played 8 million times each...

Personal favourite - 'Circlesquare'.

Which wasn't released on an album until the Best Of... If the Beatles had read Hunter.

Cracking track. For me it was either Cartoon Boyfriend or Unloveable.

Jesus Jones as well, I loved them when I was a kid. I'm half tempted to go to this for a bit of nostalgia.

For me ELGM was just tooooo goood.
I had the gramaphone record and for a period of time, it just never left my gramaphone (with wireless).

Which is my problem, are those memories best left in the past?

I decided against it, just incase it hadn't.

I was listening to the singles album ("If The Beatles Had Read Hunter...") just a few days ago, and I think most of their songs have stood the test.
