I have no reason to disbelieve your original story like some odd people on here but I certainly don't believe the Police are going to ignore a report about a potentially very dangerous man roaming around the main shopping area of Brighton just as the shops are about to open.

I think I have dealt with this black guy before. If he is same person he walks along Western Rd shouting racial abuse at white and Indian people. Think you did bestthing, however I really would insist the Police take it seriously, it sounds like his behaviour is escalating and prob won't be long before he batters someone. Mind you the rozzers will only turn out if they can make an arrest there and then. The idea of them actually doing any leg work to find out what this guys story is before he stabs someone to death is a laughable one.

Come to think about it, it's starting to ring bells with me too. Years ago, heard a couple of stories about a guy like that.

If that was a white guy being racist, the police would of been on it straight away and probably offered the victim counselling and the incident would be probably be blamed on the BNP

A few years ago a bloke I knew came home with his kids to find his ex wife in their house having smashed windows and broken in and she attacked him - I think she even stabbed him. His kids tried to stop her and she broke her sons wrist in the struggles. His daughter rang the police and five minutes later they arrived jumped on the bloke and the copper said to him "go on give me one chance and I'll break your neck" (or similar) it took the kids about 10 mins to convince the police that it was the father that had been attacked and he was the victim.

They had loads of problems with her and still the police and the courts did nothing even when the kids got their own solicitor to get court orders to stop her ruining their lives.

You'd be shocked at what the Police ignore. I detained someone who pulled a gun on me and colleagues we got him to the ground eventually, took the Police 45 mins to send a unit and a further half hour for the firearms unit to attend. If it wasn't for the fact that one guy with us was a massive ex-South African police officer I would probably be dead.

Cos i was on my way to work and i have to do my job and its far to early in the morning to be throwing punches.

A few years back there was a Black Guy, nicknamed Spider as I recall,who used to ride about in a wheelchair around Kemptown causing havoc, shouting racist abuse and whatnot and ramming white people with his chair.

He was always totally Ganjed up and I think was a Schizo too.

There are/is a disproportionate number of young black and West Indian men with paranoid Schizophrenia, compared to other ethnic groups, which often leads them to commit violence. I can think of at least two murders committed by men in this group in the last couple of years.
