FICK black ice everywhere now. I just tried driving to Portslade tesco, but after creeping along in 1st gear and STILL slithering around all over the place, and almost sliding into a roundabout at 10mph, I did an about-turn and went home. That is absolutely undrivable, glad as hell I didn't attempt going to Haywards Heath this morning. Even if I'd made it, I would undoubtedly have been killed instantly at some point on the way home. Or possibly maimed.

Car is retired until further notice.

I went out this afternoon to clear the snow off the car. I did one side and half the bonnet. Then my hand snapped off with the cold, so it's staying snowbound.

Unless you're in a 4x4 with James Bond spikes in the wheels, the SLIGHTEST gradient will defeat most cars tonight. I was going to order a takeaway, but I don't want the delivery guys blood on my hands. Or my pizza.

I have the same concerns. 7pm I'm due.
The things I do to SAVE my local. But you've just got to get on with it really, havn't you. That Kronenbourgs not going to drink itself.

the fact that the pub is OPPOSITE my house means that i shouldnt have concerns - how hard can it be to cross a road? yet everytime i close my eyes i foresee the terrible image of a man (myself) STACKING it infront of the patrons who are all eagerly watching out of the window just waiting for it to happen

and as far as walking home the lady i am going to be going with - well, she can DO ONE if she thinks i am going out of my way merely for the inevitable embarassment of falling over

these conditions just aren't meant to be mixed with strong continental lager

I might tie some tennis rackets to my shoes, like they do in comics.
That'll work, won't it ?

Been out and about a bit today and surpisingly, have not seen ONE gritter out. Apart from central Brighton the A259 was covered with frozen slush which is rapidly solidifying..... Disgraceful !
