I am concerned for people travelling by Trains

Yeah, but their only football hooligans aren't they, who cares if they get treated like cattle?

I bought my ticket over the internet. They took my money before they mentioned that I wouldn't have a reserved seat. If I want a refund they will charge me £10. I'll never travel by First Great Western again if I don't get a seat on the train I bought the bloody ticket for.

How the hell can a train company get away with selling seats on a train when it knows damn well there are no seats left? It's friggin criminal.

I was planning to go by train as there is a direct service from Gloucester to Cardiff and I figured that it probably wouldn't be that full as it is hardly Bristol City territory, now I am not so sure that it's a good idea, might drive instead.

I say lynch the bastards and appoint a public transport minister

Lord B . . .fancy a new job ?
And what makes you think that would be a sensible career move?

EVERY public transport minister in history has slid rapidly into the dustbin labelled "Public Contempt".

I want to be loved.

Sunday is also the first day 'Southern' *replace 'South Central. So it's bound to go tits up!

* = Same Company, just a name change

And they have been getting lots of practice in this week by being utterly shit. Don't think I have got to or back from work on time this week and this evening the information boards didn't work. But at least there were 6 inspectors at West Worthing to check my ticket. Money well spent.

I'd say anybody who's got any option at all on alternative means of getting to Cardiff than by train - even if it means tearing up your train ticket - bail out NOW, cos these Privatised Bastards save their very worst for a) Sundays and b) Bank Holiday weekends. If you have to use the Privatised Fuckers, try and ensure you have a Plan B i.e. somewhere to stay or some way of blagging a lift back by car/coach

I'm going back by train, but I doubt the congestion will affect the Baaadiff-Swansea-Fishguard line, and I do have my ticket booked and my Arriva confirmation code here...

Dont worry, they manage to get people in and out of cardiff all the time on trains to and from Paddington for big events, this is no different, and if anything 100 times less of a problem than Palace v West Ham.

Im sure they will put on an extra train!

But Palace v West Ham isn't on a Sunday with a Sunday service.

You reckon? The fuckwittageness of some rail companies beggars belief so I can't see this happening.

If I didn't have a reservation I wouldn't be going by train.

Yes but the Worthington Cup is on Sundays and they coped with that when Spurs played.

They have been known to put on an extra train in the past, I think most people hava reservation anyway from what I can tell so maybe we are all panicking for no reason? A bit like all the tickets for the final were going to sell out on Saturday when i was in the queue!

Yep I went to the Worthless cup final when Spurs lost to Blackburn, all the pubs around the stadium were packed with Spurs fans who did not have tickets watching the game on TV, which I was one unfortunetly.

Despite there being so many without tickets and the fact that Spurs had sold 35,0000 and some in the Blackburn end we got a train back to London it was a long queue but the OB have it all cordoned off with crash barriers and it works well although you have to be patient.

There will be less of us on Sunday and some will be going back to Brighton along the coast or via Reading others staright back to London it will be ok.

Isn't it incredible in this day and age that this country is so f***ed up that its not even capable of running a reliable train service - to the point that passengers are cancelling tickets and going by road for fear of being let down.

The rail service here is little better than a third world country, and yet we are supposed to have one of the strongest economies in Europe ? Use a train in France or Germany and it wouldn't even occur to you that you wouldn't get where you need to go on time.
This country it seems 40/60 at best...absolute joke.

The only thing I'm concerned about when travelling back along the coast is that we have to go through Bristol Temple Meads where large numbers of City fans will be wanting to go.

Problem being is it's Sunday, a bank holiday and the Engineers WILL be out in Force!!
