I thought I was going to and I didn't. The comedy PA had gone a long way to lightening the mood, and the drowning out of GOSBTS by the over-loud opera singer bigging up his part with unnecessary harmonies meant I was laughing. I was actually more moved in the morning listening to Tim Carder at the heritage board unveiling.

I was very close to tears.

In fact just reflecting back on the day now has me fighting to hold them back again.

What set me off was DK TB et al walking onto the pitch during Nessun Dorma, they proudly walked onto the pitch as he was singing the 'vincerò, vincerò, vinceròòòòò' bit which translated basically means 'I will win!' over and over again.

And do you know what, we have won!

Held it together until the boys came onto the pitch - the comedy mic probably to thank for that. Shed a few tears behind my sunglasses which were sadly spotted by the bloke sitting next to me. 36 years old, meeting a new neighbour (fellow ST holder) for the first time - not a great first impression

Managed to get a ticket for my dad for yeserday. As we walked off the train and over the bridge we were just filled with pride and excitement, then he commented, 'i wish my brother was here to see this' (had died a month earlier). That was it for me.

Yup I had tears in my eye too, especially when Wardy kissed the pitch, that was too much, I've got wet eyes now just thinking about it.

Another cry baby here. Abide With Me just completely did me in. I got a text from my brother saying "Hope you're singing" and I just replied, "Nope, crying"

Edit. Why do "tweet" and "like" appear on my posts now? I don't even use twitter.

In my own strange world
I too, felt very emotional, after all the years of struggle and pain,to see it all reach a climax left me dewy eyed and with a lump in my throat. It,in a way, reminded me of being a dad for the first time, our beautiful football club has changed forever now,our lives will never be the same,we have moved away from being the little old club in a ramshackle stadium to being what could be a major big-hitter in the footballing world, exciting times lay ahead for us and we deserve every moment of it,we have spent our time suffering, the bad old days are gone now!
