I wish I had Kev the revs insght into the inner workings of our football club,he even knows Tony Blooms long term strategy for us, playing style yet to be announced, and what the future holds for us.

Oh, by the way, we signed Solly March on a long term contract, and Rohan Ince on a long term contract, both longer than a year, and both last season, oh and Dale Stephens

Garcia's hands were tied, but that's no excuse for the dull football he dished up. For what it's worth I liked the guy as a person but his short comings as a manger we really exposed towards the end of the season......I'm sure you are fully aware that only 5 of the players who took the field against Derby in the second leg, are still with the club and two of them will be gone by the start of next season....If that didn't ring alarm bells, then it bloody well should have done.

His shortcomings towards the end of the season when we didnt lose in eight games, were the better side in the first semi against Derby, according to McClaren, and only lost inthe second when our defence was either out through injury or playing out of position

Did you ever consider a career in propaganda?

Voted Hantz simply because of his longer record in management and that he has promotions on his CV, but truthfully I only know what I read on the internet so have no real idea. If these two are the supposed final short list it makes you wonder if some of the early names banded around like Hughton, Sherwood etc were even considered by Bloom?

Towards the end of the season where we went 8 games unbeaten, got into the play-offs and he was shortlisted for the manager of the month award? You really do talk some rubbish sometimes.

Have you always been like this? Were you like this in the pre-Poyet days? I can't remember you posting then, but I assume you must have been unbearable when we were playing at Withdean watching some truly awful football, when we really did have something to moan about. Unless of course you are one of these weirdos who actually preferred it then as it made you feel part of some exclusive clique, but I never had you down as one of those.

No, I'm sure he thought "wow, they're bound to be expensive" and threw their CVs straight in the bin.

Hantz' achievements are more impressive but obviously Hyypia is more of a box office name.

I can't see either would have any particularly alluring connections to draw upon however. But is that even a factor, given our set up? If the manager is just coming in to manage, then surely we just pick the one with the best record.

Hantz has a 37% win ratio at Bastia, over four seasons, whereas Hyypia's win rate is higher, but over a far shorter spell and with a much bigger club with greater resources.

To be honest, I think Hantz having won two titles should be the deciding factor. I appreciate the second and third tiers of French football aren't necessarily the most competitive leagues on earth, but he's still done the job and a title win is a title win, unless it's in Scotland where there is zero competition.

Might not be the most fashionable name in the world but he does have honours, he does have experience and if he interviews well then that's good enough for me.

Having been on the French web sites Hantz is very well regarded - but could not find much about his playing style and how it would follow on from OG's methods - does anyone know?

According the the Arsegas gossip column, Hyypia has been offered the job and is "weighing up his options" (The Times).

This would make sense as I've just seen this article:

http://sport24.lefigaro.fr/football/ligue-1/Homes-Clubs/reims/fil-info/hantz-en-pole-a-reims-697627

It says that Hantz has agreed a two year deal at Reims.

Translation:

Which to take the Hubert Fournier, Lyon after party on the bench Reims? According to L'Equipe, Frédéric Hantz is holding the rope. Free since his departure from SC Bastia at the end of last season, the technician of 48 years "have agreed to sign a two-year contract," according to the website of sports daily. The formalization could come Monday.

Hyypia better take the job or we are back to square one then!

I would tend to give the Times report more credence than the Daily Mirrors report that Hantz has been offered the job. Concerning, if true, that Hypia is weighing up his options. If he turns us down, then its more likely that Nathan Jones will take over.

But to answer this threads question - I would take Hantz. Purely on what he has achieved on a tight budget compared with his peers.
