Seems too good to be true. So is it?

. All these warrantys are a bit of a fiddle if you read the small print. Car must be serviced by the dealer, who charge huge amounts per hour for labour, limited milage, certain parts not covered etc. Read the small print mate

I think Kia give an 8 year one.

I think the Kia warranties only cover the engine and gearbox. If the electric window jams, or the windscreen wiper motor breaks, you're screwed. Certainly this used to be the case - it may have changed.

they offer it because they genuinly dont expect anything significant to go wrong. so in that sence its fine. any car built today should last 10 years without issues if serviced properly, unless you buy a runt. most mjor problems will occur in the first few month and they will be covered by all warranties and sale of goods act.

had no problem with my hyundai getting a few things fixed for free (faulty rear windscreen washer and wiper) in its 5th year - the only thing they checked was whether it had been serviced by a registered hyundia place.

As someone who works in the franchised motor industry I would say all MANUFACTURER warranties on new vehicles are a good thing. It is the 'add on' versions sold with used vehicles that need to be checked very carefully.
