Someone you've always really liked and got on with (and fancied like hell!) splits up from her husband, who moves out of the family home into a nearby flat. She has three little boys (ranging from six to two years old), who you also really like. They live in a city 150 miles away from where you live and work. She asks if you want to go out with her. What would you do?!?!

Under your skin.
Make some snuff porn with her and then bury her in a forest.

I would log onto North Stand Chat and start a thread asking what everyone else would do.

Have you tried that?

Sounds like a complicated nightmare to me. It WILL all end in tears.

How long ago did her husband move out? My advice would be to take things very very very slowly for now (phone calls/e mails/very occasional visits). She and her ex will have a lot of sorting out to do and it won't be helped by having another bloke very obviously waiting in the wings. If you're involved, be prepared for a lot of shit, as even if it is an amicable split the ex-husband won't be exactly thrilled at you moving in on his ex-wife and three young sons.

Do a Fireman Dan, and ask the Oracle of NSC. We're great at relationship advice. I'm sure Dan's never been happier.

Go up there, get her wrecked and smash her back doors in.

You're right as ever, Lush.

He should listen to her feelings as she's going to be fragile and in a uncertain place emotionally. He needs to be the perfect gentleman, her confidant, a shoulder to cry on and a true friend.

He should definitely wait until Saturday before smashing it.
