Just out of interest. There were a lot of anti Oscar posters on here by the end of last season. We know pretty well nothing about Sami as a manager. So who would you prefer if you had a choice?
Oscar did amazingly with all the injuries and what had gone on before, we lost (what will be a top manager). Would love to have seen what he could have done with a pre season and his own players but it was not to be unfortunately
How anyone can decide between Sami and Oscar when we have seen no competitive games under Sami, don't have a full squad for him, and haven't given that squad time to deliver what Sami wants on the pitch is beyond me.
I'll answer your question once I've seen us playing competitive football, it will be hard for Sami to put out a team that plays more boring football than Garcoa did but I have my fears it might just happen.
It was Gus's strong squad that snuck us into the playoffs, another year of Oscars squad weakening and dull football would for me have resulted in midtable at best and lower crowds. No guarantee Sami will do better but we needed to try something else - we'll try again if Sami doesn't work. He's had lacklustre preseason but now comes the real test of his managerial talent
Impossible to say, but I was never comfortable with OG, maybe it was just his lack of personality or maybe because his initials stood for Own Goal, I don't know.
I feel strangely happy with Sami tnough, with no evidence whatsoever. Maybe it's just that I liked him so much as a player.
A manager who rarely trained the players, was uncontactable on transfer deadline day and oversaw a regime where medical staff were ignored and players over-trained to the point of injury or Sami Hyypia?
Obscure fact: The Metropolitan Line was opened in 1863, and the last public execution took place at Aldgate in 1868. Thus meaning that it was possible to take the Underground to the scene. Rather surreal.
